Subject: New Holes Creek Trail open for use

WASHINGTON TWP, OH: There’s a new place to walk, run or bike in Washington Township! The Holes Creek Trail is a multipurpose 10-foot-wide asphalt trail covering 1.3 miles along Holes Creek. The scenic trail runs between Holes Creek Park, a 25-acre nature park at 8575 Yankee Street, and Silvercreek Park, a 9-acre nature park at 9369 Yankee Street.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources awarded the Centerville-Washington Park District $500,000 from the Clean Ohio Trails Fund to build the multi-purpose paved trail. The funds were used for design and construction of the trail. The Clean Ohio Trails Fund works to improve outdoor recreational opportunities for Ohioans by funding trails for outdoor pursuits of all kinds.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the Holes Creek Park entrance of the trail Wednesday, September 28 at 4:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
