Centerville-Washington Park District Invites Community to Help Shape Future of Pickleball Courts at Activity Center Park
CENTERVILLE, OH: The Centerville-Washington Park District and the Foundation for Centerville-Washington Parks invite the community to attend The Big Dink, an open-house-style event focused on the future of pickleball at Activity Center Park. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.
As pickleball continues to grow in popularity, the Park District is planning significant improvements to the pickleball complex at Activity Center Park. The project includes a complete resurfacing of the existing six courts and the addition of two new courts. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in late fall 2026.
Community members attending The Big Dink will have an opportunity to be among the first to review the proposed concept plan and provide feedback on the project. Representatives from the Foundation for Centerville-Washington Parks will also be available to discuss opportunities to support the project through donations that will help fund permanent shade structures and seating areas.
“This is a chance for the community to help shape one of our most popular recreational amenities,” said Kristen Marks, Executive Director of the Centerville-Washington Park District. “Whether you’re an experienced pickleball player, new to the sport, or simply interested in learning more about the project, we encourage you to join us.”
The event will feature introductory pickleball instruction led by a pickleball ambassador, as well as open play opportunities for experienced players. Attendees may also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a private pickleball party on the newly renovated courts.
Additional event participants include Frios Gourmet Pops and Airrosti Rehab Center, LLC. More partners and activities may be added as the event date approaches.
Attendance is free and open to the public. Activity Center Park is located at 221 N. Main Street in Centerville. Donations to support the project are welcome but are not required to participate.
Registration is not required; however, those who register will receive weather-related updates. A rain date has been scheduled for Thursday, July 9. To register for The Big Dink, visit cwpd.org or call 937-433-5155.
