Subject: Fifth Annual Garlic Mustard Challenge

CENTERVILLE, OH: Come pull your weight to protect your parks! April 12 through June 7 marks the start of the Centerville-Washington Park District’s annual garlic mustard challenge. Garlic mustard is an aggressive, non-native plant taking over natural areas, and must be removed every spring from nearly every park in the district.

Now five years in the running, individuals, families, scout troops, corporate service groups, church groups and students can earn service hours while competing to turn in the most filled bags. Each registered team will be given a box of 13-gallon biodegradable, certified compostable garbage bags. Filled bags will be collected at the CWPD operations facility at 354 Congress Park Blvd.

Each team that submits at least five full bags will receive a Pull Your Weight t-shirt for each team member! The team or individual to bring the most bags will win a grand prize.

Contact Ginger Clark at gclark@cwpd.org to register your team and receive all of the necessary information to get started.
