Subject: Yankee Park Playground Grand Opening
WASHINGTON TWP, OH: The Centerville-Washington Park District (CWPD) is celebrating a new playground at Yankee Park, 7500 Yankee Street, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 12 at 4:30 p.m.
CWPD presented three potential playground design concepts to the community. More than 600 people responded to the call to select a design.
The Centerville Noon Optimist Club (CNO) generously donated $25,000 to the playground project, allowing the Park District to enhance the community’s chosen design with additional inclusive play equipment and shade structures. Play equipment additions made possible by the CNO donation include musical chimes, an ADA spinner, a turf mound and a Cozy Dome. The new playground also features an all-weather, all-accessible safety surface.
In addition, the Centerville High School National Honor Society generously donated $3,000 to put toward the inclusive playground equipment.
Representatives from the Centerville High School National Honor Society, the Centerville Noon Optimist Club and the Centerville-Washington Park District will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
