Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime
All ages
Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.
Registration is not required but is recommended.
Coffee With Your Pup
All ages (children must be 8+ to enter the dog park)
Calling all dog owners to enjoy an early-morning social at the dog park! Travelin’ Tom’s coffee truck will be available for owners to purchase coffee to sip while watching their dogs play. Dogs will get a free pup cup courtesy of the Centerville-Washington Park District! This is a great opportunity to meet and greet other dog lovers and socialize your pup.
Registration is requested but not required. Please review all dog park rules before attending.
Park, Play, Repeat!
Ages 6 – 11
This program is parks & recreation in its most classic form! Participants will spend an afternoon of crafting, playground play, games, hikes and exploration! Each month will feature a different park.

Ages 6 – 8
This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Ohio Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting
Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.
Join the OYBC Southwest Chapter! Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth through the Ohio Young Birders Club. Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and a great place to make friends! Light snacks are provided.

Turkey Tails and Tales
Ages 4 – 6 with adult companion
Join us for a variety of Thanksgiving-themed sensory stations! Fall is a fun time to explore new textures and craft techniques. We will finish the morning with a fun story!

Creative Crafting
Ages 9 – 13
Try new art skills during this fun, nature-themed crafting program. Each session will offer different options for participants to choose from, allowing them to work independently or get creative together!

Stability and Mobility with Airrosti – November
Ages 16 and up (under 18 requires adult companion)
Airrosti’s Dr. Steven Miller and Adelle will teach you how to manage, reduce and eliminate musculoskeletal pain through preventative self-myofascial release techniques using a foam roller, lacrosse ball, and banded exercises. This class will focus on the knee, foot, and ankle. If you have a foam roller, lacrosse ball or mat, please bring them. There will be a limited supply of foam rollers and lacrosse balls on hand to use.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

The CWPD 500
Ages 5 – 9 with adult companion
Join us for a “CWPD 500” race around the park! Create your own cardboard race car! We will provide kits for you to pick up and decorate your cars beforehand! Additional decorations will be provided on the day of the event. Race along the route while completing various pit stops to cross the finish line! Please register each child you would like to have create a cardboard race car.

Preschool Nature Series: Owl Sounds!
Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion
Come along on our night hike as we listen for owls! Did you know different owls have different sounds? We will learn their sounds before heading out on our hike to listen for whooo’s out in the park at night! This is a Tools to Trek program.

Rustic Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Ages 16 and up
Kick off Thanksgiving week by creating a beautiful nature-themed centerpiece in a wooden bowl for your Thanksgiving table. Use fall-themed decor, mini pumpkins and/or succulents to make your bowl unique!

The Great Turkey Trek
All ages
Follow the clues along the routes and help us find the turkeys during an interactive walk or hike! Your quest will have two options: a one-mile paved/limestone path walk or a 3.1-mile (5k) adventure hike. Either trek you complete, there will be a fun Thanksgiving-themed prize! Our sponsor for this event is Dayton Children’s Hospital. Travelin’ Toms Coffee Truck will be in attendance with items available for purchase. All event t-shirts have been claimed. Any extra t-shirts will be given out at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Last group will go on the 5k trail at 2:15 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unopened, colorful socks for Shoes 4 the Shoeless.

Conservation Crew: Tree Planting
Ages 12 – 18

The operations department needs our help with their November tree planting. Many trees are planted throughout the Park District to add to our tee canopy each year. Participants will plant trees and log them into our tree map.
