Needle Felt Pictures
Ages 16 and up
Take your needle felting to the next level and create a one-of-a-kind piece of textured art. We will be using roving wool to ‘paint’ a picture of your choice as we learn about different methods and supplies used in needle felting projects. You can choose from a beginner-friendly or a more advanced project option. This class is designed for all skill levels, providing as much or as little assistance as you would like, and all supplies needed to complete the project will be provided.

Conservation Crew: Seed Cleaning
Ages 12 – 18
The seeds that were collected at the beginning of the fall season need to be cleaned! We will then begin packing the seeds up for sowing or for distribution in the community.

Winter Hiking Club: Winter Fishes
All ages
Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson, game, art, or activity before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This is a Tools to Trek program. Individuals who attend Winter Hiking Club will get a themed sticker! This hike takes place on a natural path.
Participants can register up to the start of the program.
Watercolor Winter Landscapes
Ages 18 and up
In this workshop, we are going to create a watercolor landscape. We will start with a quick study, then use a variety of techniques to create a finished landscape. Leave the class with a complete, landscape painting! Studio materials will be provided to use in class.

Winter Hike & Seek
Recommended ages 4-6 with adult companion
Meet at the Kennard Nature Nook to compete against other families in a winter-themed scavenger hunt! Free hot chocolate will be provided! Families that find at least half of the scavenger hunt items will be entered in a prize drawing! The meet-up will not be held in inclement weather. This is not a dropoff program, parents/caregivers are required to stay with their children.

Tie-Dye & Snowball Fight
Ages 6 – 12
Design and make your own tie-dye tote bag! After tie-dying, we will head outside for an epic snowball fight in our natural play area. No snow? No problem! We will bring out our special fake snowballs and have some indoor fun.

Amazing Athletes at the Park B
Ages 3 – 6
Wednesdays, January 29 – March 5
This program uses the fundamentals of 10 different sports to help build and develop motor skills, nutritional knowledge and body awareness. Sign up for both sessions and receive an Amazing Athletes t-shirt! This class will be held outdoors when possible with the option to go inside for inclement weather, so please dress accordingly.

Fitness Yoga B
Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, January 29 – March 5
You will get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, yoga practice, as well as mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

All About Coyotes
Ages 16 and up
Join an ODNR Division of Wildlife expert for a presentation on coyote life history. The lecture will include information about coyote behavior and resources for those concerned about their local coyote populations.
Registration is taken by Washington-Centerville Public Library. Registration opens on December 29.

Glass Fusing: Night Light B
Ages 16 and up
Create a 3.25″ by 3.25″ night light to add a unique glow to the dark winter evenings. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will provide the supplies. Beginners and returners alike are welcome to this new class!

Beginner Naturalists Club: Winter Birds

CWPD is looking for our newest generation of naturalists! This program is an opportunity for participants to explore Bill Yeck through their five senses, just like naturalists! Each month will cover a different, exciting topic. The theme for January is Winter Birds

Owlexander’s Cinema: Owls
Ages 5 – 10
Owlexander is holding a movie night, and he’s inviting his friends to join him for a fun-filled evening! We will kick off the evening with owl crafts, games and preparing a salty snack. Then, we will settle in for a kid-friendly movie all about owls! Looking for something to do while your kids are out and about? Check out the Warm Hearts Couples Evening happening the same night.

Warm Hearts: Couples Evening
Ages 16 and up
Warm up with your special someone during a night out in the park! Start the evening with an intentional, self-guided night hike lined with deep-dive questions to spark conversation. Then, get out of the cold and into the Smith House for a hot chocolate bar and games, or head outside to enjoy a cozy bonfire together. This is a night for couples young and old! One registration per pair. Night hike trail will be paved and lit for easy navigation. Looking for something to do with the kids while out on this special night? Register them for Owlexander’s Cinema, happening the same evening!
