Family Birdwatching Walk: Waterfowl That Wow!

Ohio has entertained the world with legendary performers–and our wetlands put on a show of their own! As duck migration season begins, join us for a family-friendly birdwatching walk to search the ponds and creek for waterfowl and shorebirds. Along the way, we’ll spotlight the incredible “star qualities” and adaptations that help these birds survive in the wild. Which feathered performers will we see taking the stage in our Ohio wetlands?

Glass Fusing: Wind Dancers
Ages 16 and up
Kick off the spring season with this glass fusing class. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will lead participants through the basics of glass fusing. Create three 3″ squares that will be hooked together with mirrors in between to capture the spring breeze!

Let’s celebrate spring with a scavenger hunt! Five animals are hiding in Bill Yeck Park, ready to start their lifecycles! Once you find an animal, scan the QR code and fill in the blanks about its lifecycle. Winners will be contacted on April 6.

Spring Equinox Celebration

Welcome the spring season with a fun family event! We will have a variety of flower-themed activities, including story time and crafts. Participants will receive native wildflower seeds to take home and plant in their gardens.
Registration is requested. Registered participants will receive a cancellation notice if necessary due to inclement weather. No pets, please.

Outdoor Photography Scavenger Hunt
All ages
A fun event for the whole family! Participants will explore the park through a photography scavenger hunt. Following the scavenger hunt, families will share photos with one another. The team with the most items found on the list will receive a prize! All families need to bring a device to take photos, preferably one that has a screen to view the photos. Cell phone cameras are acceptable! One registration per family. This program is weather-dependent. This is a Tools to Trek program

Sandy Staycation with Now and Zen DIY
Ages 6 and up with an adult companion (Adults can register to create their own terrarium)
Kids and adults alike will enjoy creating sand art during this unique workshop. Choose vibrant sands, natural accents and air plants to design a one-of-a-kind terrarium that’s as fun to make as it is beautiful to display. No experience needed — just bring your creativity! Create, unwind and let your imagination flow!

Eggstra Special Doggy Day
All ages (children must be 8 or older to enter dog park)
Join us at the dog park for an ‘egg’ hunt for your dog(s), dog-themed crafts, special activities, community partners, giveaways and more! Egg hunt prizes are available while supplies last. The off-leash dog park will remain open for your dog(s) to socialize and play.

Beautiful Blooms Wildflower Tour (Adults)

Our spring wildflowers have amazing life histories. An instructor will take you on a tour of our trails and point out these short-lived treasures.

Create a succulent fairy garden together. Then, explore the Mark Kreusch Nature Playce and build an outdoor fairy home too! Please register each child attending.

Watercolor & Printmaking Class
Ages 18 and up
We will be exploring nature-themed imagery while combining watercolor painting with block printing. We will be using studio materials. Leave the class with your finished painting/print and your very own printing block! All skill levels are welcome! This class is best for beginner to intermediate level participants. All supplies will be provided. Class is taught by visual artist and designer Renee Hopson.

Pickleball League Any Doubles My Teen & Me A
Ages 12 – 17 plus a family member over 21
Sundays, March 29 – May 3
This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21. Please register your teen and list the participating family member in the questions. Both players must have an online account set up on the same household profile. There is no single player will call for this league.
