That’s How We Roll Summer Fun Run
All ages (station activities will be for ages 3 – 8)
Bring out your favorite set of (non-motorized) tires for this Fun Run on wheels! Big wheels, wagons, bikes, strollers, wheelchairs, scooters and more will zoom around the paved loop. 100-meter dash begins at 9:30am. Fun facts about how Centerville’s transportation was in the past (including why Iron Horse Park has a train theme!) will be included as pit stops along the way. This event is sponsored by Bike Centerville.
Tree Time!
All ages
Come along on our tree appreciation hike! We will learn how to identify them by leaf shape and bark texture. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Grow Together Native Garden Club

We are starting a garden club! Grow Together Native Garden Club will focus on the entire household working as a team to manage your own native wildflower gardens at home. Each meeting, families will share their garden adventures, learn about garden ecology, give our small garden space a little TLC, and spend some time creating or playing! This is a Tools to Trek Program.

Bike About Centerville Community Ride A
Ages 18 and up
Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! The ride will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles.

Set your sights on the stars and aim toward the planets at this solar system-inspired archery activity! We will learn the basics of archery and put them to use, aiming toward planet-shaped targets and creating unique space-themed crafts! No equipment or experience is necessary.

We’re on the lookout for the wildlife of Grant Park — and the signs they leave behind. Your camper will hike trails, learn about wildlife tracks, seek out fur and feathers and even identify scat! Along the way, we will play games that teach us about animal behavior. This week is for the blossoming zoologist!

Crafts with Nature Summer Series
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
Gather each month in the evenings to make some nature crafts! We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park. The theme for June is ‘Fabulous Fungi!’. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. If your child is not walking, backpacks and front carriers are appropriate. Strollers are not recommended for parks with natural terrain.

Needle Felting Dryer Balls
Ages 16 and up
Needle felt and upgrade your laundry routine all at once! We will cover the basics of needle felting and decorate a set of environmentally friendly dryer balls. They can be used instead of dryer sheets as a more natural and sustainable alternative. No prior experience is needed and all supplies will be provided.

Firefly Yoga
Ages 18 and up
Enjoy a relaxing night of yoga with Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees while we watch the park sparkle! Learn about the bioluminescence of the firefly after practicing breathwork, standing poses, flowing poses and ending with relaxation surrounded by the glittering forest.
We ask that you pre-register so we have an accurate expectation of attendance.
Dance Fitness with Emily A
Ages 18 and up
Thursdays, June 18 – July 23
This class is a total body workout designed to bring people (like you!) together through music and dance. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! We guarantee you’ll leave this class feeling great! Please bring a bottle of water.

Firefly Hike

There is no better way to explore the unique life of fireflies than hiking through the park during peak firefly season. After a brief introduction about fireflies, we will go on a hike and watch as fireflies illuminate the space around us! Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Young Birders Club Meeting
Ages 12 – 18
Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth.
Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and also a great place to make friends. Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club and be between the ages of 12 and 18.
