The Creek Before Time

We’re diving back in time for this camp! Let’s explore prehistoric animals through creeking adventures, fossil exploration, guest speakers and dinosaur-themed activities. We’ll end the week learning about our living ‘dinosaurs’ right here at Grant Park — our scaly and terrific reptiles.

Fitness for Longevity D Monday
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, July 20 – August 24
Get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout and functional movement for vitality and longevity. Exercises are designed to improve breath work and fascia alongside joint and heart health. Due to the incorporation of a full range of exercises from calisthenics to long holds and deep stretches, prior exercise experience is highly recommended. Taught by Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Beginner Pickleball Lessons – Session B

Join Certified Pickleball Trainer James Lawson to develop the introductory skills to level up your pickleball game. James is a licensed and certified instructor with a current DUPR rating of 5.23. This 4-week lesson is designed for the beginner player looking to develop basic skills to move up to a more competitive level of play.

Picnic and Pages
Ages 16 and up
Join the Centerville-Washington Park District and the Washington-Centerville Public Library for an evening of picnic snacks, great conversation and even better books! After enjoying light conversation, participants are welcome to spread out in the park to relax with a book or stay nearby to continue chatting with a librarian and fellow readers.
Grow Together Native Garden Club

We are starting a garden club! Grow Together Native Garden Club will focus on the entire household working as a team to manage your own native wildflower gardens at home. This is a Tools to Trek Program.

BIG Backyard Party
All ages
The 10th annual BIG Backyard Party is here! Join us for an afternoon full of hands-on activities all ages and abilities can enjoy. Activities will include inflatables, fishing, archery, field games and so much more! Two hundred free fishing poles are available for children ages 14 and under thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This program is made possible by several ongoing community partnerships. Attendees are encouraged to bring unopened/unexpired canned or boxed food items to support The Foodbank. Specific high-need items will be posted on our Facebook event page closer to the event.
Registration is requested. Treats from Claybourne Grill Food Truck, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, and Kona Ice will be available to purchase and enjoy. This event is part of the America-250 Ohio Celebration!

This week will be focused on being responsible stewards. Campers will learn to be conservation superstars at home and in the parks, complete projects and crafts to help take care of the earth and wrap up the summer in style.

Conservation Crew: Garden Management

We will be doing a general spruce-up on the new garden space at the Grant Park Nature Cabins. Please come prepared for the weather. All Conservation Crew sessions count as service hours.

Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Garden to Table Workshop
Ages 16 and up
Join Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling for a brand new workshop focusing on growing and harvesting seasonal produce. Participants will cook an in-season dinner together and enjoy it on the back patio if the weather allows. Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class.
