In this festive hands-on class, kids will explore electricity and circuits while creating their own LED light-up Halloween candy tote bag! After learning how simple circuits work, they’ll design and build a glowing pumpkin-themed tote that’s perfect for carrying candy on Halloween night.

Fall Foliage Camp: Habitat Hoppers
Ages 5 – 12
School is out for fall break! Do you have a plan? Much like our summer day camp, campers will explore the park, but this time for all things fall foliage! The theme for Thursday is Habitat Hoppers! We will explore the various habitats at Grant Park, from the meadows to the forest to the creek. Along the way, we will learn about the wildlife that live in these habitats.

Glass Fusing: Sunflower Suncatcher
Ages 16 and up
Capture the golden and glowing autumn sunlight with a 4.5″ by 9″ suncatcher featuring sunflowers! Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will provide the supplies and instruction. Bring your ideas!

Fall Foliage Camp: Whooo Loves Camp?
Ages 5 – 12
Much like our summer day camp, campers will explore the park, but this time for all things fall foliage! Children will participate in games, crafts, hikes, and nature programs, all while staying active and outdoors on their days off! The theme for Friday is Whooo Loves Camp?! We will learn about who comes out at night in our parks, play games and complete crafts centered on nocturnal wildlife, and take part in nature activities.

Pumpkin Spice Paint Night
Ages 16 and up
Join us for a cozy and creative night! Try watercolor paintbrush pens to bring a pre-outlined autumn scene to life. Enjoy a relaxing ambiance with plenty of fall-themed refreshments. All supplies included, participants will get to keep their watercolor paint pen set.

Spooky Scenes and Sweets
Ages 11 – 16
Create spooky scenes with watercolor brush pens. Use flowing layers and natural blending to create misty shadows, eerie skies, and ghostly shapes that feel extra mysterious! A variety of breakfast treats will be provided to enjoy while you paint. No experience needed. All supplies included, participants will get to keep their watercolor paint pen set.

Welcoming the New Photographer
Ages 14 and up
Join local artist and educator Heather Ballard for a morning exploring fall foliage. Learn the basics of exposure, camera settings and composition. Bring your fully charged camera and memory card. This class is open to photographers with all types of cameras — from DSLRs to smartphones!

Beth Bridgeman, a full-time maker and weaver from Yellow Springs, Ohio, will teach about several safe, effective adaptogenic herbs and the unique properties and benefits of each. You will also learn about marks and menstruum and the variety of liquids that you can use for tincturing. Walk away with multiple handmade tinctures! The AM and PM sessions are the same program. Get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout and functional movement for vitality and longevity. This class is designed to maintain strength, mobility and power at an advanced level, regardless of your age. Prior exercise experience is highly recommended. Taught by Dan Loofboro. It’s International Bat Week! Bats have played a critical role in our environment for more than 50 million years, maintaining insect populations, dispersing seeds and more! Come on an explorational hike as we look for these keystone species in their natural environment. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Spooky Season Hike

We will kick off the night with local legends of things that go bump in the night and a tour of our historic Smith House (which may just be a little bit haunted). Then, as the sun sets we will hit the trails to see some iconic, spooky sites at this park. Those goosebumps are just from the wind, right? Please register each participate planning to attend separately.

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.

Gentle Yoga C

Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. Please bring a yoga mat and water.
