Unscramble the puzzles to learn ways to save the Earth a little each day throughout the year. Each Friday a new clue will be released to a park location and activity to help you achieve Planeteer superhero status!
After successfully completing each week’s location and activity, prizes will be awarded to all participants. Prizes are awarded based on the number of weeks completed. One lucky participant will win a grand prize.
Eggs-tra Special Doggy Day
All ages
Join us at the dog park for a dog-friendly egg hunt, fun dog-themed activities, giveaways and more! All activities will happen right outside the dog park and the off-leash areas will remain open for dogs to play. Egg hunt prizes available while supplies last.
Nocturnal Nature Series: Celestial Scavenger Hunt
All ages.
Search for planets along a lighted, paved path! Can you find all the planets in our solar system and other fun things from the night sky? The trail should take between 30-45 minutes to complete. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Beautiful Blooms Wildflower Tour
All ages
These tiny treasures can only be seen for a short time! An instructor will lead you along the path to search for all the spring wildflowers the forests have to offer. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Pull Your Weight Garlic Mustard Challenge Begins!

Monday, April 10 – Monday, June 5
Pull Your Weight to protect your parks! Garlic mustard is an aggressive, non-native plant taking over natural areas. Help restore and protect your native ecosystems with this fun volunteer challenge! Drop off 13-gallon garbage bags filled with garlic mustard to the CWPD Operations Facility, 354 Congress Park Blvd. Each team submitting at least five full bags will receive a Pull Your Weight t-shirt for each team member. The team or individual to bring the most full bags will win a grand prize! Each registered team will be given a box of biodegradable garbage bags to start. Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library and to participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.
Porch Stitching: Embroidery Journaling
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, April 11 & 18
Explore the world of 3D art journaling with us! We will be creating our own journals with an embroidered cover. Learn tips to create a beautiful dimensional art piece using embroidery, watercolor and paper piecing. No experience required.

Spring into Archery
Ages 8 – 15
We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned to practice. Participants will compete against each other in friendly competition. All equipment is provided.

Fitness Fusion
Ages 18 and up

(No class May 17)
Fitness Fusion incorporates cardio, circuit training, resistance training, pilates and compound exercises. Taught by Emily Chandler, a certified group fitness instructor. You will need a light set of weights, and a towel or yoga mat.

Glass Fusing: Hanging Flower Panel
Ages 16 and up
Wildflowers are in full bloom in your parks! Use fused glass to create your own whimsical flower design. Learn the principles of kiln-fired glass from instructor Kathy Woodruff. Finished artwork is 5.5” wide and 10.5” tall to hang in your window or set on display!

Clay Fairy Houses

Join Kristin Bailey from Purple Paintbrush LLC to make your own unique fairy house out of two pounds of clay! We will spend the second evening painting the fairy houses. They will be fired and available for pickup in approximately one to two weeks. Participants must be able to attend both nights.

Pollinators and Flowers Colorful Fun Run
All ages
Learn about pollinators and their favorite native flowers while you stop by stations with color powder! This will be a one-mile course with a 100-meter dash option for ages 10 and under. The 100-meter dash will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. This event is sponsored by Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Watercolor Floral Class
Ages 18 and up
Celebrate spring by learning how to paint watercolor florals! We will use basic brush and watercolor techniques to create spring watercolor floral paintings. This is a beginner-level class. Material kit includes; paint palette, metal water cup, spray bottle, reusable bamboo paper towel, #8 round brush, and six sheets 6×9 watercolor paper.
