Drawing Nature
Ages 18 and up
Review basic drawing techniques; learning to see, proportion, shading and scaling. Then we will apply these techniques to drawing botanicals. Leave the class with everything you need to keep drawing — and with a complete botanical drawing!

One Day at Winter Woods
Ages 5 – 12
Calling all kids that love camp! Join us on President’s Day for a one-day camp full of all our favorite fun camp activities, but in the winter! Campers will enjoy hikes and games outside, gather around the fire circle for s’mores, then warm up in the Smith House with games and crafts.

Beginning Cross Stitch: Oak Appre-tree-ation
Ages 18 and up
Participants will learn to cross stitch by making a small oak leaf cross stitch project. Also learn about the importance of oak trees and basic identification. Our project is part of a set of three patterns. Participants will receive the other two patterns to complete on their own.

Charcuterie Boards with AR Workshop
Ages 16 and up
Learn how to craft the perfect charcuterie display! Participants will learn to incorporate natural elements into their boards and how to create flowers within the display. This class includes a DIY mini tray and food samplings to create a personal-size board.

Conservation Crew: Egg Painting & Assembly
Ages 12 – 17
We have several educational programs coming up about egg-laying animals. Help us paint some realistic replicas to assist with Eggstravaganza and research animals for the Great Egg Hunt! Volunteers can take home these projects for more hours.

Winter Hiking Club: Squirrels!
All ages
Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson, game or activity before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This hike takes place on a paved path.
Participants can register up to the start of the program.
Forts in the Forest
All ages
Build forts with what nature provides — sticks, leaves, mud or snow! Prizes will be awarded for most creative use of materials, most livable and most woodland fairy-tastic. At the end of the program, we will take a commemorative picture and learn the proper way to give your creation back to nature. One registration per family.

Let’s Meet Up: Nature Playce March
All ages
Stop by the Kennard Nature Nook for a free snack. Then, explore the Mark Kreusch Nature Playce during an unstructured and casual meet-up! An activity will be planned that children can participate in before or after unstructured playtime.
The meet-up will not be held in inclement weather, check cwpd.org for updates. Parents/caregivers are required to stay with their children.
Conservation Crew: Seed Sowing and Prep
Ages 12 – 17
We will spread the seeds we collected and cleaned in the fall in the McEwen meadow to encourage wildflower diversity in the new meadow. After measuring and sowing, we will work on packaging and preparing additional seeds for other purposes. This program will take place indoors and outdoors.

Yoga in the Park

Method Studio’s Megan Lees leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation.

Strollers in Motion
Adult caregivers with child 6 weeks – Pre K
Mondays, March 6 – April 10
Strollers in Motion is a stroller-based workout for moms, dads or other caregivers. After some classes, special activities will be planned for the children! Strollers in Motion is led by Kenzie Potts.

Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting

Welcome to the Southwest Chapter of the Ohio Young Birders Club! Bird watching and identification are fascinating subjects. You will walk away with a greater knowledge of birds and their role in the ecosystem. Participants must be members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

This class is a total body workout designed to bring people together through music and dance. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 4 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a paved path. Backpacks, strollers, and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Amazing Athletes at the Park
Ages 3 – 6
Wednesdays, March 8 – April 12
Join Amazing Athletes as we practice our coordination, fine motor skills and gross motor skills! This program uses the fundamentals of 10 different sports to help build and develop motor skills, nutritional knowledge and body awareness. This class will be held outdoors with the option to go inside for inclement weather, so please dress accordingly.
