On this hike, we will discuss who is asleep at night and who is awake. Then your family will take a trivia challenge at the end to test your knowledge! This is a Tools to Trek Program.

Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion

We will act out the plot with active games, sing songs with sensory themes and take short hikes in the park. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. One adult companion per registrant. We will move into the Kennard Nature Nook in inclement weather.

All ages

Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson, game or activity before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This hike takes place on a paved path.

Participants can register up to the start of the program.

Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, January 18 – February 22

You will get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, yoga practice, as well as mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion

There are so many things to do in the dark! Your leaders have a challenge for you! Can you find the secret glow codes along our hiking path? We will talk about animals that make their own light. The session of PNS takes place entirely outdoors.

Ages 18 and up

We are going to create loose watercolor botanical drawings. We will start with a quick charcoal value study, then a black and white watercolor, and wrap up with an expressive full-color watercolor botanical. We will be using studio materials. Leave the class with three versions of your botanical.

Method Studio’s Megan Lees leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation.

During this class, you will create a beautiful winter birch scene on a 10.75″ square of glass. A metal hanger will be added if you would like for it to be a window decoration! All materials, except a stand for your project, are included.

Join Amazing Athletes as we practice our coordination, fine motor skills and gross motor skills! This program uses the fundamentals of 10 different sports to help build and develop motor skills, nutritional knowledge and body awareness. This class will be held outdoors when possible with the option to go inside for inclement weather, so please dress accordingly.

Saturday, January 28

We will combine the elements of fire and ice during a winter hike and campfire. We will search for icicles, icy puddles and snowy patches that we can paint! Afterward, we will warm up around the campfire and make s’mores.
