It’s science week! We will test lots of fun science experiments, explore nature, work on art projects, and make some oooey-gooey projects like slime and oobleck! Please dress in old clothing, and we will provide aprons for especially messy crafts.

We’re on the lookout for the wildlife of Grant Park — and the signs they leave behind. Your camper will hike trails, learn about wildlife tracks, seek out fur and feathers and even identify scat! Along the way, we will play games that teach us about animal behavior. This week is for the blossoming zoologist!

Crafty Campers Week

All the fun of camp with a creative twist! Your camper will enjoy classic camp games while spending extra time creating nature-based crafts, both big and small. Let’s be inspired together and make some masterpieces we can’t wait to bring home.

This week, we will focus on more in-depth craft options and will include some mess-making opportunities! Campers will create musical instruments and explore the sounds of nature. We will play cooperative, team-building games.

Join the teachers of WILD Child Nature Preschool for a week of Wonder, Investigation, Learning and Discovery! This memorable week of camp will include unstructured nature play, creek romping and more! Your child will explore with their five senses through process art and sensory play, participate in cooperative games & investigation stations and have the chance to truly let their imaginations run wild!

Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion

Gather each month in the evenings to make some nature crafts! We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park. The theme for June is ‘Fabulous Fungi!’. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. If your child is not walking, backpacks and front carriers are appropriate. Strollers are not recommended for parks with natural terrain.

Ages 16 and up

Needle felt and upgrade your laundry routine all at once! We will cover the basics of needle felting and decorate a set of environmentally friendly dryer balls. They can be used instead of dryer sheets as a more natural and sustainable alternative. No prior experience is needed and all supplies will be provided.

Ages 18 and up

Enjoy a relaxing night of yoga with Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees while we watch the park sparkle! Learn about the bioluminescence of the firefly after practicing breathwork, standing poses, flowing poses and ending with relaxation surrounded by the glittering forest.

We ask that you pre-register so we have an accurate expectation of attendance.

Thursdays, June 18 – July 23

This class is a total body workout designed to bring people (like you!) together through music and dance. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! We guarantee you’ll leave this class feeling great! Please bring a bottle of water.

There is no better way to explore the unique life of fireflies than hiking through the park during peak firefly season. After a brief introduction about fireflies, we will go on a hike and watch as fireflies illuminate the space around us! Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth.

Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and also a great place to make friends. Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club and be between the ages of 12 and 18.

Ages 3+ with an adult participant

Join Kristin of Purple Paintbrush for a new family pottery painting workshop. Participants will paint their choice of two beach-inspired pottery pieces using colorful glazes. Enjoy lemonade and light refreshments while creating something special together. Please note that each painter must be registered. Additional pieces will not be available for purchase on the day of the workshop, so please register accordingly.

This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21. Please register your teen and list the participating family member in the questions. Please note, this is a league designed for players with a base understanding of pickleball. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.
