Ghosts and Goblins Archery
Ages 8 – 15
It’s spooky season and the archery range is full of ghosts and goblins! We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned into practice. Participants will compete in friendly fall-themed competitions. All equipment is provided and all skills are welcome! This program is geared towards beginners.

Welcoming the New Photographer
Ages 14 and up
Join local artist and educator Heather Ballard for a morning exploring the fall foliage at Grant Park. Learn the basics of exposure, camera settings and composition. Bring your fully charged camera and memory card. This class is open to photographers with all types of cameras — from DSLRs to smartphones!

Family Clay Flower Pot Workshop
Recommended for ages 4 and up with parent/guardian participation
Each registration includes 2 lbs of clay, enough to build one larger container or two to three smaller ones, making it perfect for siblings. After shaping our flower pots and adding drainage holes, we’ll finish them off with a splash of color using a variety of fun glazes. In addition, when you pick up your projects, we will add succulents to brighten the upcoming winter days! This is not a drop-off program.

Park, Play, Repeat!
Ages 6 – 11
This program is parks & recreation in its most classic form! Participants will spend an afternoon of crafting, playground play, games, hikes and exploration! Each month will feature a different park.

Crafts with Nature – Outstanding Owls!
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park — all to spark a love of nature in our youngest community members! The theme for October is ‘Outstanding Owls!’. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain.

Ohio Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting
Ages 12 – 18
Join the OYBC Southwest Chapter! Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth through the Ohio Young Birders Club. Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and a great place to make friends! Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

Dance Fitness with Emily

This class is a total body workout designed to bring people (like you!) together through music and dance. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! We can guarantee you’ll leave this class feeling great! Please bring a bottle of water.

Stemily Studios: DIY Neon Sign
Ages 8 – 14
Light up creativity! Kids will design and build their own custom neon-style sign! Using a flexible LED light strip and shaping wire, participants can bend, twist and fasten their design into a glowing world or shape of their choice. A fun fusion of art and engineering, this class lets kids bring their bright ideas to life!

Un-loch the Mysteries of Ohio Cryptids
Ages 8 and up
Ohio folklore is rich in legends of the unexplained: the Loveland Frogman, Orange Eyes, Grassman, Mothman and more! Are they just myths, or are these creatures roaming the park waiting to be discovered? Join us around the campfire to hear their tales and then head out on a sunset scavenger hunt to search for proof that these Fantastic Beasts exist. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Spooky Slime Making
Ages 8 – 12
Join us for the fan-favorite Fall version of slime with Halloween-themed additions! This program is a great way to get creative while making new friends and trying new slime recipes for fun and stress relief! Due to the variety of types of slime, please be sure to note any allergies.

Amazing Athletes at the Park
Ages 3 – 6
Wednesdays, October 15 – November 19
Join Amazing Athletes to practice coordination, fine motor and gross motor skills! This program uses the fundamentals of 10 different sports to help build and develop motor skills, nutritional knowledge and body awareness. Sign up for both sessions and receive an Amazing Athletes t-shirt! This class will be held outdoors when possible with the option to go inside for inclement weather, so please dress accordingly.

Preschool Nature Series: Woodpeckers
Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion
Tap, tap, tap—what’s that sound? Join us as we discover the behaviors of woodpeckers. Your leader will guide you on a hike to learn and test out some of their adaptations! This is a Tools to Trek program.

Needle Felt Forest Fungi
Ages 16 and up
This beginner-friendly needle felting class will cover the basics of needle felting and the process of creating a friendly forest fungi to add to your fall decorations. No prior experience is needed. All supplies and materials will be provided.

An Evening at Camp

Join us for an evening of all our favorite camp games, hikes and activities to have one last summer camp night before fall really begins. The evening will end with s’mores and a campfire! Celebrate Sweetest Day with a sunset hike and charcuterie in Grant Park! Join Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling for a cozy and creative evening in the heart of fall. You’ll start by crafting your own charcuterie tray, perfect for a golden-hour picnic during a scenic sunset hike through Grant Park. Parents: Need childcare? Check out the “An Evening at Camp” program. It’s offered at the same time!
