Spooky Season Hike
Ages 18 and up
We will kick off the night with local legends of things that go bump in the night and a tour of our historic Smith House (which may just be a little bit haunted). Then, as the sun sets we will hit the trails to see some iconic, spooky sites at this park. Those goosebumps are just from the wind, right? Please register each participate planning to attend separately.

Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime
All ages (recommended for children 5 and under)

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.
Registration is not required but is recommended. This is a Tools to Trek program!
Gentle Yoga C
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, November 3 – December 15

Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Early Adventures: Smith House
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hikes can be on a natural or paved path, depending on the location. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

3D Embroidery: Mushrooms!
Ages 16 and up
Discover different techniques to make your embroidery POP! We’ll learn to create three-dimensional embroidered mushrooms by using felt, wire and thread. Along the way, we’ll enhance our projects by understanding the anatomy of different mushrooms. Each participant will leave class with an in-progress stump work embroidered mushroom project.

Science is all around us! Children will experience science firsthand through hands-on, and sometimes messy, activities! We will explore fascinating science concepts with a new theme each week. We are putting science to the test as your child learns about chemistry, biology and physics.

Kid’s Glass Fusing: Penguin Ornaments
Ages 6 – 10 with adult companion
Children will use their creativity to make two penguin ornaments! Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will assist the children and parents, guardians or grandparents as they work together on this unique project. All supplies provided. Please register each child attending.

Glass Fusing: Night Light
Ages 16 and up
Create a 3.25″ by 3.25″ fused glass nightlight to add a warm glow to the dark winter evenings with Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver. Enjoy a relaxing and creative experience as you design a piece that reflects your personal style. This is the class to get creative and create your own unique project.

Wildflower BINGO
Ages 16 and up
Play BINGO on a specialized wildflower board to learn about native wildflowers and win seeds that you can go home and plant right away. Then appreciate their beauty and habitat benefits in the spring!

Honeysuckle Homestead
All ages
Join us for a family-friendly day of honeysuckle removal! After we remove honeysuckle, we will build a fire to dispose of the invasive plant and make s’mores!
Oh My Gourd! Archery (Youth)
Ages 8 – 15
What better way to reuse old pumpkins than to give them second life at the archery range! Join us as we learn the basics of archery, then put those skills into practice, aiming at our pumpkins! All equipment is provided; no experience is necessary.

Crafts with Nature: Nocturnal Neighbors—Opossums!
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
Let’s get together and do a nature craft! We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park — all to spark a love of nature in our youngest community members! The theme for November is ‘Opossums!’. If the weather allows, we will take a short walk outside.
