Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Creek Peek: Fossil Finders
All ages
Learn about fossil formation and the main types of fossils found in Holes Creek. Wear clothing that can get wet. Closed-toe shoes are required. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Sandscape Studio with Now and Zen DIY
Ages 6 and up with an adult companion (Adults can register to create their own terrarium)
Children and adults alike will enjoy creating sand art during this unique workshop from Now and Zen Studio. Choose vibrant sands, natural accents and air plants to design a one-of-a-kind terrarium that’s as fun to make as it is beautiful to display.

Splash of Color Picnic

Join the Centerville-Washington Park District and the Washington-Centerville Public Library for our second annual tie-dye event! This year, bring along white cotton items and a picnic to enjoy in the park. We’ll help you create vibrant masterpieces, then cool off in the sprayground and enjoy your picnic.
Registration is not required; however, registered participants will receive weather updates by email, if necessary. Please note: A maximum of two items per person for tie-dyeing, 100% cotton works best. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Kona Ice is available for purchase. Be sure to wear something you don’t mind getting messy!

Campers will learn to navigate trails, compete in fun survivor-themed challenges and create their own nature patches. Exploring the wonders of nature through hands-on activities while exploring new places will lead to meaningful memories that last for years! Recreation Day Camp is weather-dependent; you will receive a refund for any canceled days at the end of the week.

Join us for a week focused on our favorite local mammals. We will be sprinkling in some of our favorite fairy tale animals as well! From skunks to unicorns, moles to mammoths, this week has them all. Please dress in old clothing, and we will provide aprons for especially messy crafts.

Step into a world of imagination and engineering! Campers will design, build and defend their own castles using creativity and teamwork. From crafting flags and crests to testing fort “defenses,” each day brings new challenges and plenty of outdoor fun.

Week 7 full-day campers will meet at Oak Grove Park on one of their camp days to fish, participate in archery, and for their grand competition!

If you lived in the wilderness, how would you survive? What would you do? And how on earth do animals do this every day? We will hike in the park and pick up survival skills along the way! We will also learn how wildlife survives, and the unique traits called ‘adaptations’ that help them survive even the toughest challenges.

Dance Fitness with Emily B
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, July 14 – August 18
This class is a total body workout designed to bring people (like you!) together through music and dance. We dance to various styles of music (Latin, hip hop, pop, global rhythms, etc.) which provides a good mix of low to high-intensity moves. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! Please bring a bottle of water.
