The Centerville-Washington Park District operates eight community parks, 11 nature parks and 32 neighborhood parks encompassing more than 1,000 acres in Centerville and Washington Township. Each of the 51 parks has varying amenities. You’ll find a sprayground, a dog park, a skatepark and an archery range; top-notch sports fields; hiking trails and nature preserves; and more, all within the boundaries of one suburban Ohio community of 57,000 people. Thanks to the foresight of the Park District’s founders, there is a park to explore within walking distance of every home in the community.
Community Parks
The Park District provides facilities for football, baseball, T-ball, softball, tennis, soccer, basketball and other activities. Community parks are home to youth and adult athletic leagues, with games, tournaments, camps and special events scheduled throughout the year. All community parks have group picnic shelters available for reservation or drop-in use.
Community Parks: Activity Center, Forest Field, Iron Horse, Oak Creek South, Oak Grove, Robert F. Mays, Schoolhouse and Yankee
Nature Parks
The Park District manages several parks as natural areas with limited development. These forests, meadows, prairies, wetlands and meandering streams provide an excellent outdoor classroom. Natural areas protect wildlife and offer us an opportunity to learn about natural history and our cultural heritage. Please help ensure that their priceless beauty can be enjoyed by future generations.
Nature Parks: Bill Yeck, Black Oak, Black Oak East, Forest Walk, Grant, Holes Creek, Huffman, Little Woods, Nutt Woods, Rooks Ravine and Woodbourne Springs
Neighborhood Parks
Providing at least one park in each neighborhood has been a primary goal of the Park District since its founding! Nearly all 32 neighborhood green spaces have been created with the cooperation of the City of Centerville, Washington Township, Montgomery County and developers. These nearby parks offer wooded trails, open areas, ponds, streams and play equipment that provide a beautiful setting for walks, picnics, school outings and family fun!
