Injury Prevention Workshop with Airrosti
Ages 16 and up (under 18 requires adult companion)
Airrosti’s Adelle Scott, Sr. Recovery Specialist, will teach you how to manage, reduce and eliminate musculoskeletal pain through preventative self-myofascial release techniques using a foam roller, lacrosse ball and banded exercises. This class will focus on injury prevention. Any additional follow-up or inquiries on the advice given will need to be conducted with Airrosti directly. CWPD cannot provide any advice on further steps in treatment planning.

Forts in the Forest
All ages
Build forts with what nature provides — sticks, leaves, mud or snow! Discover the fun of using nature to make a shelter as a family. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative use of materials, most livable and most woodland fairy-tastic. At the end of the program, we will take a commemorative picture and learn the proper way to give your creation back to nature. One registration per family.

Watercolor Lotus Class
Ages 18 and up
Learn techniques like how to add interest to backgrounds, utilize a limited palette, and work with limited brushes to improve dexterity. You will leave the class with your completed painting! All skill levels are welcome! This class is best for beginner to intermediate level participants. All supplies will be provided. Class is taught by visual artist and designer Renee Hopson.

Yoga in the Park A
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, March 2 – April 6
Method Studio’s Megan Lees leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation.

Moms Walk and Talk
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, March 2 – May 18
We will meet near the shelter for introductions then walk along the park’s paved path. A local mom will lead the group and will have various discussion topics. Feel free to bring your younger children in carriers or strollers. Note: All children are welcome to attend a fun park play date on Monday, March 23, during Spring Break.

A Walk in the Park
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays & Thursdays, March 3 – May 28
These are self-guided walks around your community parks! Walking helps maintain a healthy weight, increases energy, lifts your spirits, strengthens memory and protects from heart disease and high blood pressure. Enjoy reduced stress, improved quality of sleep and the many benefits from an improved quality of life.

Meet up with other trail trekking enthusiasts to trek through the parks through this self-guided meet-up program! Sign up to rent Nordic poles if you want to try trekking before you purchase your own set. You will be contacted to sign a borrower’s permit and pick up your set for the fall. A limited number of rental poles are available.

Gentle Yoga A
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, March 3 – April 7
Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Life’s Sketchbook
Ages 16 and up
Tuesdays, March 3, April 7 & May 5
Discover a fresh twist on “junk journaling” with CWPD! In this creative, hands-on program, you’ll transform everyday materials into a meaningful visual diary. All journals and supplies will be provided as you craft a personalized scrapbook of your life in a calm, supportive environment.

Hike For Your Health

Staff and volunteers will lead groups at different paces. Hike for Your Health is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and get to know some of your parks better. All hikes are on natural trails. Please wear appropriate shoes for trails that may be muddy or slick.

Fitness Fusion
Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, March 4 – April 15
(No class April 1)
Fitness Fusion incorporates cardio, circuit training, resistance training, pilates and compound exercises. Each class will vary in the types of exercises and will help you build speed, power, strength and endurance. Taught by Emily Chandler, a certified group fitness instructor. You will need a light set of weights and a towel or yoga mat.
