Join avid birdwatcher John Kennard on a walk focusing on bird identification. Bring binoculars if you have them; a limited supply will be available to borrow. Hike is on a natural path.

Teddy Bear Brunch in the Park
All ages
Celebrate spring with a Teddy Bear Brunch! Spread out on the Smith House lawn to enjoy brunch in the fresh spring air with your family and your stuffed friends! The Teddy Bear Brunch will include themed activities, including crafts, games and a scavenger hunt. No pets, please.
Mom and Me Brunch
Ages 4 – 10 with adult companion
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a special “Mom and Me Brunch” cooking class! Join Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling for a delightful day of cooking laughter, and bonding over tasty dishes to enjoy together! Please register the mom attending. Up to two children within the age range are included in the price. Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class

Flower Power Adapted Walk & Roll
All ages
Participants can enjoy the accessible paved path at the Activity Center Park while stopping at various booths along the way. Each booth will have interactive games, giveaways, and all things flowers! Participants are encouraged to travel along the path visiting booths at their own pace. The last time to start the route is 2:30 p.m. The fully paved path is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

Build-A-Boat
Ages 9 – 15
Participants will assemble their hand-held boats using only natural materials (some provided, some found); some bark here, some twine there and some mud to fill in the gaps. Once done, participants will unleash their boats in the creek to see which boat makes it to the end! We will finish the program with some classic creeking and hiking! Wear your creek shoes!

Bike Centerville Community Ride
Ages 18 and up
Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Beginner Pickleball Lessons – May

Tuesdays, May 6 – May 27
Join Certified Pickleball Trainer James Lawson to develop the introductory skills to level up your pickleball game. James is a licensed and certified instructor with a current DUPR rating of 5.23. This 4-week lesson is designed for the beginner player looking to develop basic skills to move up to a more competitive level of play.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Mad Science University
Ages 9 – 12

Children will experience science firsthand through hands-on, and sometimes messy, activities! We will explore fascinating science concepts with a new theme each week. We are putting science to the test as your child learns about chemistry, biology and physics.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

An Evening at Camp B
Ages 6 – 12
Join us for an evening of all our favorite camp games, hikes and activities to celebrate the start of summer. Finish the night sharing your favorite camp stories around a campfire with s’mores. Both sessions (A and B) of an Evening at Camp will be similar, but, participants are welcome to sign up for both to get maximum camp fun!

Spring Stress Relief
Ages 16 and up
Try a new stress-relieving hobby or craft! There will be a few options to try. Best of all, enjoy the golden hour and beautiful colors of the spring sunset. Please be sure to note any allergies.

Glow in the Park Pickleball
All ages
Join us at the courts for a special glow-in-the-dark evening of pickleball! The court will be lit with fun colors and there will be light-up pickleballs! Wear colors that will shine under black light and glow/light-up accessories! Please note that this is not a tournament-style event. Matches will be for fun and to lower points, and we will make every effort to rotate teams through the courts frequently.

Movie Party in the Park: Night at the Museum

(Rain date: Saturday, May 17)
The evening will kick off with games, activities, and fun reminiscent of the various exhibits featured in the film. For a late dinner or dessert, our wonderful community food trucks, Claybourne Grille and Kona Ice, will be pleased to serve you. At sunset, we will gather around the big screen for the film.
