Sew Much Fun: Mushroom Pillows
Ages 7 – 13
Create a soft, fluffy mushroom pillow as you learn how to sew! Learn the. basic stitches and techniques needed to create your project. Decorate your mushroom pillow while learning about our favorite mushrooms. No experience is necessary to take part in this beginner-friendly class.

Glass Fusing: Night Light A
Ages 16 and up
Create a 3.25″ by 3.25″ nightlight to add a unique glow to the dark winter evenings. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will provide the supplies. Beginners and returners alike are welcome to this new class!

My First Leaf Collection Hike
Ages 3 – 6 with adult companion
Work on your leaf collection during this stroll through the park! We will look for leaves together for you to take home and create your leaf collection. We recommend bringing a standard notebook to store your leaves during the hike.

Kid’s Glass Fusing: Penguin Ornaments B
Ages 6 – 10 with adult companion
Children will use their creativity to make two penguin ornaments! Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will assist the children and parents, guardians or grandparents as they work together on this unique project. Please register each child attending.

Empowering Outdoors: Coffee & Conversation
Ages 18 and up
Join the Centerville-Washington Park District and the local non-profit Hope Wanders to enjoy coffee and conversation with guest speakers and/or an educational experience followed by a walk or hike. This session will include an introduction to First Aid on the trail including hygiene and dressing for cold weather followed by a 1.3-mile hike to practice new skills. Erin Compaleo, Assistant Director, Outdoor Recreation at Wright State University will lead the informational overview. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes.
Registration is not required.
Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime
All ages
Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.

Owlexander’s Preschool Power Path
Ages 3 – 6 with an adult companion
Little adventurers will embark on an exciting journey filled with fun challenges! This specifically designed course features obstacles that will put children’s athletic skills to the test. As they navigate through the course, preschoolers develop gross motor skills, coordination, and teamwork, all while having a hoot of a time! Owlexander will make an appearance at the event!
Gentle Yoga
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, October 29 – December 3
Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

What better use of old Halloween pumpkins than to shoot them with arrows? Join us for an evening of archery, but this time aim for pumpkins! We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned into practice. Participants will compete in friendly fall-themed competitions. All equipment is provided.

Young Birders Club Southwest Chapter
Ages 11 – 18
Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of birdwatching to our youth. Birdwatching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and a great place to make friends! Light snacks are included. Participants must be members of the Ohio Young Birders Club. Winter programs will be held by Kettering PRCA.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
Hit the trail with us! Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Science is all around us! Children will experience science firsthand through hands-on, and sometimes messy, activities! We will explore fascinating science concepts with a new theme each week. We are putting science to the test as your child learns about chemistry, biology and physics.

Allergen Playdate
Recommended for ages 2 – 10 with an adult companion
Thursdays, November 7 & 21
Do you have a child with a severe food allergy? Do you wish there was a space where you could say YES to your child worry-free? This playdate is for kids with food allergies and their families. While the kids play games, do crafts and eat from a snack table catered to be safe for ALL attendees, adults/older siblings will chat with each other and a local allergy specialist from the Dayton Food Allergy Network to learn more about supporting their kids. Feel free to attend one or both programs, each will have new information and activities. This is not a drop-off program. One registration per family.
