Ladies’ Friendsgiving

Celebrate Friendsgiving with a ladies’ night out cooking class taught by Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling! You’ll shake up a delicious mocktail and whip up a selection of tasty appetizers! From fruity drinks to savory bites, you’ll learn easy recipes perfect for any gathering. Gather your friends for an evening of creativity, laughter and delightful flavors! Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class.

DIY Gifts: Felted Coasters and Trivets
Ages 14 and up
Get a head start on holiday gifting or hosting with this colorful craft. We will use wool-felted balls to create a set of bright coasters and a matching trivet. All supplies and materials needed for this class will be provided. No experience of any kind is necessary to participate in this easy workshop.

Rustic Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Ages 16 and up
Kick off Thanksgiving week by creating a beautiful nature-themed centerpiece in a wooden bowl for your Thanksgiving table. Use fall-themed decor, mini pumpkins and/or succulents to make your bowl unique!

The Great Turkey Trek
All ages
Follow the clues along the routes and help us find the turkeys during an interactive walk or hike! Your quest will have two options: a one-mile paved/limestone path walk or a 3.1-mile (5k) adventure hike. Either trek you complete, there will be a fun Thanksgiving-themed prize! Our sponsor for this event is Dayton Children’s Hospital. Travelin’ Toms Coffee Truck will be in attendance with items available for purchase. All event t-shirts have been claimed. Any extra t-shirts will be given out at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Last group will go on the 5k trail at 2:15 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unopened, colorful socks for Shoes 4 the Shoeless.

Do You Want To Paint an Owl?
All ages
Pick up plywood owl: Friday, November 24– Monday, December 8
Return finished owl: Friday, December 12 – Tuesday, December 29
Spot, the Park District Snowman, is excited to go owling in the parks! Whoooo knew we had so many! Each owl has a favorite roosting spot in the parks where they can snooze and observe the daily routine before becoming active at night. Will Spot be able to guess the favorite roosting spot of all his owl friends?
Households can register to paint a plywood owl using the above prompt. After painting, turn your owl in to enter it in the Spot the Snowman Scavenger Hunt contest for a chance to win a prize! Owls will be turned in and featured in a scavenger hunt. Scavenger hunt participants will cast votes for their favorite owl.

The operations department needs our help with their November tree planting. Many trees are planted throughout the Park District to add to our tee canopy each year. Participants will plant trees and log them into our tree map.

This program is a great way to make new friends and try some new slime recipes for fun and stress relief! Due to the variety of types of slime, please be sure to note any allergies.

Amazing Athletes at the Park A

This program uses the fundamentals of 10 different sports to help build and develop motor skills, nutritional knowledge and body awareness. Sign up for both sessions and receive an Amazing Athletes t-shirt! This class will be held indoors with the option to go outside when the weather permits.

Owlexander’s Cinema: Monster Night
Ages 5 – 10
Owlexander is holding a movie night, and he’s inviting his friends to join him for a fun-filled evening! We will kick off the night learning about camouflage and we will design our own well-hidden monster. Then, we will play games and prepare a sweet treat. To end the night, we will settle in for a kid-friendly movie featuring some lovable monsters!

Growing Up WILD Workshop and Training
Ages 16 and up
This 3-hour training session will show educators how to use the guide and showcase resources available to connect children to the outdoors. Growing Up WILD curriculum guides are free to those completing this course by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife.

Family Ornament Workshop: Pottery Painting
Ages 5 – 12 with adult companion

Community Toy Swap
Give old toys new life and discover something “new-to-you” at our community Toy Swap hosted in partnership with Centerville and Washington Township’s Buy Nothing groups! This fun, family-friendly event is a great way to refresh your child’s toy collection while supporting sustainability and sharing within our community.
Toy Drop off:
Thursday, December 4, 9 am-12 pm *staffed
AND 9-10 am on Saturday, December 6, before the swap officially starts

Swap Guidelines
To keep the event safe, fun, and fair for all, please follow these rules when bringing toys to exchange:
- Check toy condition: All toys must be clean, safe, and in good working order. Please launder or wipe down items before bringing them.
- Games and puzzles: Must include all pieces.
- Battery-operated toys: secure battery compartments, no signs of corrosion.
- Plush toys: Must be clean and in good condition; please launder prior to swap
- Safety first: Avoid toys that are broken, dirty, recalled, or have small loose parts that could be choking hazards.
- No clothing or decor items: Toys only, please!
Unclaimed items: Any leftover toys will be donated to Hannah’s Treasure Chest or otherwise donated or disposed of responsibly.
