Fitness for Longevity B

Get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, a blend of mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity — this class is designed to help you maintain the strength, mobility and power at age 100 that you have now. All levels are welcome. Taught by Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Fitness Fusion

Fitness Fusion incorporates cardio, circuit training, resistance training, pilates and compound exercises. Each class will vary in the types of exercises and will help you build speed, power, strength and endurance. Modifications provided. Taught by Emily Chandler, a certified group fitness instructor. You will need a light set of weights and a towel or yoga mat.

Creative Crafting

Hike with a Naturalist

Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Glass Fusing: Winter Ornaments

Ages 16 and up

 

Exercise your creative side while making beautiful fused glass ornaments perfect for gifting or adding to your own holiday décor. Instructor Kathy Woodruff will lead the class in creating three ornaments. Choose from a variety of styles and designs to make each piece uniquely yours.

Luminary Walk

Enjoy a candlelit stroll through Bill Yeck Park. There will be a half-mile paved route and a one-mile route along the purple trail. Warm up by the John Meyer II Memorial Fire Circle and enjoy the sounds of the season with carols from Centerville High School’s symphonic choir! Free hot chocolate at the Forest Field shelter while supplies last! Please bring a school supply item to support Crayons to Classroom‘s mission to secure and distribute school supplies at no cost to teachers of students in need.

Woodpecker Scavenger Hunt

Do you know what makes a good woodpecker habitat? Search for all of Ohio’s woodpeckers and the elements they need to survive. Each family will receive their own woodpecker flip guide. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Tea Party in the Park

Join us for a tea party for the whole family. This will be an afternoon of nature-themed crafts, games and enjoying time together! We will have tea and treats sure to please all ages. Enjoy the view of our meadow from the warm and toasty Community Room. One registration per family.

Imagination Crew – Nature Play!

There is so much to be learned through nature play, but it’s tough when the weather turns chilly. This indoor program welcomes young naturalists to a world of imaginative play, all themed around nature. Each month will feature a different topic! In December, we will dive into learning about birds through play.

Seed Starters: Mini Greenhouses

In this family workshop, we will make mini greenhouses out of milk and water jugs and sow some native seeds! After constructing the houses, select the species that will work best in your yard and learn how these amazing plants are adapted to the cold Ohio weather. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Preschool Nature Series: HiBEARnation

Bring your favorite teddy bear and we will learn how their wild counterparts, black bears, spend the year. We will then venture outdoors and take a short walk on the paved path. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Cocoa & Cookies

Kick off winter break with cocoa and cookies with Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling! Children will bake cookies and make hot cocoa to enjoy during the class. They will also make it as a gift in a jar! Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class.

Evergreen Artists

Families will have fun creating works of art using elements of these amazing evergreen trees. Along our artistic journey, we will discuss why some trees do not lose their leaves and the adaptations they have to prevent water loss in this dry season. This is a Tools to Trek program.
