The BIG Challenge Scavenger Hunt
All ages
Select your level of challenge and we will pack a backpack for you and your family to use as you complete tasks in Grant Park. Start at the Kennard Nature Nook to pick up your backpack and head out as a family to see if you can beat the clock! One registration per family.

Bike Centerville Community Ride A
Ages 18 and up
The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Tai Chi Intermediate
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, June 10 – August 5
(No class July 1)
Continue to develop Tai Chi and Qigong principles moving from Tai Chi Easy™ into Dr. Roger Jahnke’s Integral Tai Chi form. Taught by Judy Wilson, Certified Integral Qigong and Tai Chi Instructor. This class will take place outdoors with the option to move indoors for inclement weather.

Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Critters & Crawlers in the Garden
Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion
At this fun-filled preschool program, you will get hands-on with the creatures that call gardens home. Play games, read stories and meet some garden critters up close and personal. All participants will also get to plant a flower to take home in their very own flower pot!

Salamander Slicker
Ages 8 – 12
Take a hike through the creek while we look and learn about salamanders and other slippery wildlife. Prepare to get muddy as we slip and slide along the way.

D&D with CWPD A
Ages 12 – 17
Monday, June 17; Tuesday, June 18; Thursday, June 20 & Friday, June 21
Participants will play as members of a Forest Ranger’s Guild, working to protect and conserve a vibrant fantasy world. This four-day program will teach you everything you need to know about playing D & D. Each participant will be given their own set of dice. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome.

Summer Slime Making
Ages 8 – 14
What better place to make slime than outside? We will responsibly clean up our mess, but also have fun making it! This program is a great way to make new friends and try some new slime recipes for fun and stress relief! Due to the variety of types of slime, please be sure to note any allergies.

Needle Felting
Ages 16 and up
Do you enjoy fiber arts? Have trouble keeping real plants alive for long? Make a cute fake plant in this beginner-friendly needle felting class! This class is designed for all skill levels, providing as much or as little assistance as you would like.

Glass Fusing: Whimsical Garden Décor
Ages 16 and up
Catch your garden’s beauty with glass décor in this glass fusing class. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will lead participants through the basics of glass fusing. Create two small pieces to stake in your garden.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Firefly Yoga
Ages 18 and up
Enjoy a relaxing night of yoga with Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees while we watch the park sparkle! Learn about the bioluminescence of the firefly after practicing breathwork, standing poses, flowing poses and ending with relaxation surrounded by the glittering forest.

Empowering Outdoors: Coffee and Conversation June
Ages 18+

11:00 a.m. – noon Hike
Join the Centerville-Washington Park District and the local non-profit Hope Wanders to enjoy coffee and conversation with guest speakers and/or an educational experience followed by a walk or hike. This session’s conversation is an overview of the concepts of Leave No Trace and feeling confident on welcoming yourself and others onto the trail while making as little impact as possible. The hike is a three mile total loop. Closed toed shoes should be worn.

Creek ‘n Seek
All ages
Learn what factors are needed for a healthy creek while participating in a scavenger hunt! After we search for our creatures and habitat elements, we will compare what we found! This is a Tools to Trek Program.

Watercolor Fish Class
Ages 18 and up
We’ll be swimming with the current in this class! We will create fish-themed watercolor paintings, focusing on Ohio species! We will utilize basic brush and watercolor techniques using studio materials. Leave the class with your finished painting.
