Let’s stay active and healthy, all while trying new outdoor activities! We’ll learn neat nature education topics along the way! Each week has different themes and activities. Top secret! This week of camp is full of mysteries, decoders and spy thrillers. We will have lots of challenges to solve, so get your disguise ready, secret agent!

We dance to various styles of music (Latin, hip hop, pop, global rhythms, etc.) which provides a good mix of low to high-intensity moves. Instructor Emily Chandler strives to make this class high-energy and a lot of fun! We can guarantee you’ll leave this class feeling great! Please bring a bottle of water.

Ages 8 – 12

Complete fitness challenges inspired by the powers and moves of iconic heroes! Participants will build strength, agility and confidence as they tackle fun, superhero-inspired challenges and activities. Dressing up as your favorite superhero is encouraged — capes, masks, or superhero shirts add to the excitement and make the experience even more immersive. Get ready to power up, have fun and feel like a true hero! This is a drop-off program.

Ages 16 and up

We will cover the basics of needle felting and decorate a set of environmentally friendly dryer balls. They can be used instead of dryer sheets as a more natural and sustainable alternative. No prior experience is needed and all supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own tools or dryer balls.

Let’s explore bubbles with a bubble party! We will create a unique craft using bubbles, and enjoy bubble playtime and a story!

Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth.
Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and also a great place to make friends. Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club and be between the ages of 12 and 18.

Recommended for ages 8 and up

Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Ages 16 and up

Join us for a fun and relaxing closed terrarium workshop, where you’ll create a miniature 8″ tall ecosystem! Closed terrariums are self-sustaining and low-maintenance creations. They are a beautiful way to bring nature into your space. With an array of plants and natural accents to choose from, your design will thrive with minimal effort. It’s the perfect blend of creativity, nature, and effortless style!

Ages 18 and up

In this workshop, we will create panoramic waterfall paintings using resistance techniques. We will start with a quick warm-up exercise and wrap up with a full-color watercolor of a waterfall. We will be using studio materials. Leave the class with a panoramic waterfall painting. All skill levels are welcome! This class is best for beginner to advanced level participants.

Ages 8 – 12

Learn how to needle felt with us and create a cute and cuddly friend to take home. This class will cover the basic techniques, supplies, and safety considerations needed to create figures from wool. Note, we will be working with real needles in the class! No previous experience is needed, and all supplies will be provided.

Ages 18 and up

Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Dayton by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! This ride will take our Bike Centerville Community Rides up a level and be approximately 22 miles.

Ages 5 – 12

It will be a competition all week long! Your camper will play their favorite camp games, tie-dye team bandanas, and join in some friendly, outdoor competitive activities.

Recreation Day Camp (RDC) offers a variety of recreation activities, sports, games, arts and crafts, guest speakers and more! This fun program keeps children outdoors and active all week! Recreation Day Camp is weather-dependent; you will receive a refund for any canceled days at the end of the week.
