Moms Walk and Talk
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, September 8 – November 17
We will meet near the shelter for introductions and a coffee then explore one of the trails. A local mom will lead the group and will have various discussion topics. Feel free to bring your younger children in carriers or strollers. Walks will take place on paved and/or natural trails depending on the participants with strollers. Please wear appropriate shoes for trails that may be muddy or slick.
There is no registration deadline for this program. Registration is required, but you can join anytime!
Outdoor Explorers
Ages 9 – 12

Outdoor play is vital to child development and well-being. This program, designed to allow children to interact with nature in unique ways, teaches children about nature and the outdoors. Activities include discovery, challenges and games.

Gentle Yoga A
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, September 9 – October 14
Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. This is an eight-week session. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Ohio Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting
Ages 12 – 18
Join the OYBC Southwest Chapter! Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth through the Ohio Young Birders Club. Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and a great place to make friends! Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

Stemily Studios: Out-Of-This-World UFO Terrarium
Ages 8 – 14
Young space explorers will create a glowing UFO terrarium and start a real crystal-growing experiment! Kids will decorate their jars with moon rocks, space gems, a UFO and glow-in-the-dark constellation stickers. Then, they’ll add the crystal mixture and learn how crystals grow over time—watching them start to form in as little as 24 hours at home!

Fitness for Longevity (formerly Fitness Yoga)
Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, September 10 – October 15
This class is designed to help you maintain the strength, mobility and power at age 100 that you have now. You’ll work motor units—which disappear if we don’t use them—and all types of muscle, from slow twitch to fast twitch. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Creative Kids Corner: Take Home Kits

This take-home kit features crafts and activities revolving around a fun nature-based seasonal theme! There will be three different kits — one for each month!

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.

Happy Bees Hydration Station
Ages 16 and up
Join Kristin Bailey from Purple Paintbrush LLC for a hands-on clay workshop where creativity meets conservation! You’ll design and build a functional water station using approximately 1.5 pounds of clay—perfect for keeping bees hydrated. Kristin will guide you through shaping your piece and adding thoughtful details, then you’ll finish it off with colorful glaze to make it truly your own. Help support our vital pollinators while exploring your artistic side!

Cyanotypes and Lumen Prints
Ages 14 and up
Learn two historical camera-less photographic processes while creating beautiful botanical images with local artist and educator Heather Ballard. We will collaborate with the sun and the parks natural resources to create frame-able works of art! All supplies are included. You may bring flowers or leaves from your yard or garden!

Movie Party in the Park: The Wild Robot
All ages
This movie party is sure to be one wild adventure! Our night will begin with games, crafts, activities and more to unleash your family’s wild side! The Family Spoon food truck and Sweet P’s popsicle cart will be pleased to serve you the perfect meal! Or, you can bring your own food for a picnic blanket dinner. At sunset, we will settle in for a viewing of the adventurous and heartwarming film, The Wild Robot. This event is possible thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Jeff Probst Group. (Rain date: Saturday, September 20)
