Ages 6 – 11

This program is parks & recreation in its most classic form! Participants will spend an afternoon of crafting, playground play, games, hikes and exploration! Each month will feature a different park.

Sundays, September 14 – October 19

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21.

Registration deadline: Sunday, August 31

Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion

We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park. The theme for September is ‘Hello, Fall!’. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain.

Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, September 16 – October 21

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! All leagues are 6 weeks long. Please note, this is a league designed for players with a strong understanding of pickleball rules, and who are at an intermediate level of competition. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.

Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, September 17 – October 22

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! All leagues are 6 weeks long. Please note, this is a league designed for players with a basic understanding of pickleball rules, but who are still early in their pickleball skill development. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.

Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion

There are many different dragonfly species in Ohio! Their lifecycles include water and land. During this session, we will search for their nymphs in the water and the adults in the meadow! Be prepared to get wet in the creek. Close-toed shoes are required. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Ages 18 and up
Thursdays, September 18 – October 23

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! Please note, this is a league designed for players with a basic understanding of pickleball rules, but who are still early in their pickleball skill development. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.

Ages 18 and up

Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

All ages

Spread out on the Smith House lawn to enjoy a fun and relaxing fall evening with your family and stuffed furry friends! Bring your own dinner and/or enjoy free light refreshments while supplies last! The afternoon will include themed crafts, games and a scavenger hunt. Please note: allergens will be present in some of the free refreshments and other participants’ meals.

Registration is requested. Registered participants will receive a cancellation notice if necessary due to inclement weather. No pets, please.

Ages 16 and up

The sunflowers are blooming and so are we! Come and create a sunflower-inspired wreath with us, perfect to welcome the chilly fall days and spread a little sunshine. All supplies and materials will be provided, and no previous experience is needed to participate.

Ages 16 and up

Join us for a slow but exciting walk focused on our feathered friends. Participants will learn bird identification as we see who is chirping and chipping above us! Before we start, we will learn about feather types. Bring binoculars if you have them; a limited supply will be available to borrow.

Registration deadline: Thursday, September 18

Recommended for ages 8 and up

Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.
