Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Stability and Mobility with Airrosti – September
Ages 16 and up (under 18 requires adult companion)
Airrosti’s Dr. Steven Miller and Adelle will teach you how to manage, reduce and eliminate musculoskeletal pain through preventative self-myofascial release techniques using a foam roller, lacrosse ball and banded exercises. This class will focus on the upper back and neck. If you have a foam roller, lacrosse ball or mat, please bring them. There will be a limited supply of foam rollers and lacrosse balls on hand to use.

Watercolor Still Life
Ages 18 and up
In this workshop, we will create watercolor still life paintings based on observation. Start with a quick study, then use a wet-in-wet method to set the background. Once the initial layer dries, we will create details using a wet-on-dry. You will leave the class with a completed painting! All skill levels are welcome! This class is best for beginner to intermediate level participants. All equipment will be provided.

Soothing Sounds at the Smith House
All ages
Join us for a relaxing afternoon on the Smith House lawn! Enjoy two hours of live piano music featuring your favorite tunes and classic oldies, performed by local pianist Jimmy Douglass. Free refreshments will be available throughout the event. Don’t forget to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair to sit back, relax and enjoy the music!
Registration is not required, but registered participants will receive reminder and/or cancellation emails.
Creek Connectivity
All ages
Search for and learn about the tiny creatures that have an important role in the creek ecosystem. Close-toed shoes are required. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Fall Family Archery
Ages 8 and up
Join us for this family session to learn the basics of archery and to play some competitive, fall-themed games! All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. Each family member registered can bring up to 4 people. Children must be 8 years old or older to participate.

All About Coyotes
Ages 16 and up
Join an ODNR Division of Wildlife expert for a presentation on coyote life history. The lecture will include information about coyote behavior and resources for those concerned about their local coyote populations.
Registration is taken by Washington-Centerville Public Library. Registration opens on August 28. Registration deadline: 1 hour before program begins or until program is full
Teen Pickleball Party in the Park
Ages 11 – 16
Join us at the courts for an evening of pickleball with your friends! We will have music, light refreshments, and a whole lot of pickleball. We will mix groups throughout the evening and try to keep similar experience levels together. This is designed as for-fun, non-tournament style open play. Please bring your own paddles and wear secure footwear. Pickleballs will be provided.

LEGO Botanical Autumn
Ages 16 and up
Create a project with a lasting reminder of the colors of summer during this new adult evening out! Participants will choose a LEGO flower kit to build while the sun sets over the meadow. Enjoy a variety of refreshments while you work on your project. Note: Kit options will be different from the Spring session.

BIRD is the WORD
All ages
Many birds have interesting names! Join avid birder John Kennard on a birdwatching walk. He will share fun anecdotes about how some of our feathered friends got their names. Hike is on a natural path. Bring binoculars if you have them. A limited supply will be available to borrow. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Adapted Action Day
All ages
The annual Adapted Action Day event is in a new location this year! Join us at the accessible and exciting Activity Center Park for this afternoon of adapted events created to serve all abilities! This day will be full of archery, kickball, sidewalk chalk, adapted biking, pickleball/tennis, crafts and so much more! Partners from all over the community will be there to bring this event to life!
Registration is requested but not required. Please let us know what accommodations you would like to see to make this event even better for you!
Family Clay Fairy House Workshop
Recommended for ages 4 and up with parent/guardian participation
This fairy house workshop is for the young and young at heart! No previous clay experience is required for this workshop! Each family will receive 2 lbs of clay, enough to make 2 – 3 small houses or 1 larger house! We will use non-sharp simple tools and hand building, and paint the houses with glaze the same day! This is not a drop-off program.

Bike About Centerville, Ride C
Ages 18 and up
Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Conservation Crew: Seed Collection Hike
Ages 12 – 18
In addition to collecting late-blooming flower seeds from the Seed Nursery, we will hit the trails and look for other seeds ready to be collected.

Halloween Hop & Howl: A
All ages
Put on your Halloween best and enjoy a festive stroll designed especially for preschoolers around Forest Field Park. Themed signs will be placed along the path to get children moving and grooving as they collect treats at various stations. Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the Halloween spirit. Allergy-friendly treats will be provided. Please bring your own bag to collect them! Kona Ice will be available for purchase, weather permitting.
Registration is not required, however, registered participants will receive a cancellation email in the event of inclement weather.
