Megan Lees of Method Yoga Studio leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include a warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses, and end with relaxation.

Cue the Hue! Color Fun Run
All ages
Colors everywhere! Learn about some of nature’s most colorful and vibrant animals and plants. Visit color powder stations along the way! There will be a one-mile course plus a 100-meter dash option for ages 10 and under. The 100-meter dash will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Use your favorite fitness tracking app to record your time and share it on our Facebook event page! White/light t-shirt colors are recommended for the most vibrant results. Please be aware that leather and suede tend to stain with the color powder.
This is a Tools to Trek program. T-shirts will be provided for the first 100 youth participants registered by March 20. Please register children individually.
Nature Journaling through Watercolor: Trout Lily
Ages 18 and up
Led by visual artist and designer Renee Hopson, this bring-your-own-material, loose workshop is meant to connect you and your craft to nature. We will meet outside the Smith House and hike together to a trout lily patch to start painting. Materials to bring: travel watercolor paint set, aqua paint brush, waterproof fine tip pen, pencil with eraser, bull clip, drawing board, and a sketchbook or journal (or any other materials you’d like to use instead).

Signs of Nature: ASL Interpreted Hike
All ages (suggested for adult families or those with children ages 8 and up)

This adapted hike welcomes all community members, especially those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, to enjoy a stunning hike through the meadows of Bill Yeck Park! An ASL interpreter will assist our naturalist in sharing facts about the wildlife, plants and ecosystems we will explore! Registration (one per family) is required. Hike will be approximately 1.5 miles over natural terrain. This program is in partnership with Community Services for the Deaf Dayton.

This class is designed to help you maintain the strength, mobility and power at age 100 that you have now. You’ll work motor units — which disappear if we don’t use them — and all types of muscle, from slow twitch to fast twitch. All levels are welcome. Taught by Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Young Gardeners: Grow A Sunflower
Ages 3 – 6 with adult companion
Learn about sunflowers with us! We will learn about the life cycle of a sunflower and how they grow. Then we will decorate our pot and plant our own seeds! This program will be outside, weather permitting. Please register individually if your group would like more than one flowerpot per adult/child pair. This is not a drop-off program.

Get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, a blend of mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity. Glass Fusing: Whimsical Garden Décor
Ages 16 and up
Prepare your spring garden with glass décor. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will lead participants through the basics of glass fusing. Create two small pieces to stake in your garden.

All ages
Frogs are not the only amphibians in our ecosystem. With nearly 40 amphibian species in Ohio, these indicator species are crucial for understanding our environment. Join us on a hike as we take a deeper look into this class of animals and how they shape the world we live in! This is a Tools to Trek program.

Pickle-Luau!
All ages (Required to be 8 or older to play pickleball matches; anyone under 16 must have an adult guardian present)
Join us for a fun luau-themed evening of pickleball! We will turn the courts into a tropical party. Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt, and we will bring the leis and light refreshments. Please sign up each person who would like to play and note if you have a partner with whom you would prefer to play. We will make every effort to rotate teams through the courts frequently. Please bring your own paddles and wear secure footwear. Pickleballs will be provided.

Native Garden Design with Dayton Area Wild Ones
Ages 14 and up
Join Dayton Area Wild Ones President Kari Carter and Brooke Medlin, Co-owner of Meadowsweet Ecological Landscapes, for a presentation on planning and designing a garden for wildlife. After the presentation, they will answer questions and offer information about local resources for planting for wildlife. Each participant will receive native seed packets to get started!

Spring Sensory Stations
Ages 2 – 5 with adult companion
Join us for a morning exploring the changing season with sensory stations! We will explore different themed stations relating to springtime!

Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Mother’s Day Craft Workshop
Ages 7 – 12
There is nothing quite like receiving a handmade gift, especially when you’re a mom! This workshop invites kids to make unique and special gifts just in time for Mother’s Day. From handcrafted soap, fizzy bathbombs, nature-themed picture frames and DIY cards to pull it all together, your child will walk away with three special gifts, wrapped and ready for mom!

Sushi Roll Adventure
Ages 8 – 15
Learn the art of sushi making with Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling! From rolling your own sushi rolls to crafting delicious fillings and sauces, this hands-on experience will unleash your culinary creativity. Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class.
