Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Mad Science University
Ages 9 – 12

Children will experience science firsthand through hands-on, and sometimes messy, activities! We will explore fascinating science concepts with a new theme each week. We are putting science to the test as your child learns about chemistry, biology and physics.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

An Evening at Camp B
Ages 6 – 12
Join us for an evening of all our favorite camp games, hikes and activities to celebrate the start of summer. Finish the night sharing your favorite camp stories around a campfire with s’mores. Both sessions (A and B) of an Evening at Camp will be similar, but, participants are welcome to sign up for both to get maximum camp fun!

Spring Stress Relief
Ages 16 and up
Try a new stress-relieving hobby or craft! There will be a few options to try. Best of all, enjoy the golden hour and beautiful colors of the spring sunset. Please be sure to note any allergies.

Glow in the Park Pickleball
All ages
Join us at the courts for a special glow-in-the-dark evening of pickleball! The court will be lit with fun colors and there will be light-up pickleballs! Wear colors that will shine under black light and glow/light-up accessories! Please note that this is not a tournament-style event. Matches will be for fun and to lower points, and we will make every effort to rotate teams through the courts frequently.

Movie Party in the Park: Night at the Museum
All ages
(Rain date: Saturday, May 17)
The evening will kick off with games, activities, and fun reminiscent of the various exhibits featured in the film. For a late dinner or dessert, our wonderful community food trucks, Claybourne Grille and Kona Ice, will be pleased to serve you. At sunset, we will gather around the big screen for the film.
This event is possible thanks to a generous sponsorship from Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Registration is requested but not required.
Celebrating All Mothers
All ages
This event will include flower bouquet making, floral photo opportunities and crafts made with love! Musical entertainment will be provided by pianist Jim Douglass. Travelin’ Toms refreshments will be available to purchase. The first 25 mothers will receive a complimentary drink ticket for a Travelin’ Toms beverage.

Pickleball League Any Doubles My Teen & Me
Ages 12 – 17 plus family member over 21
Sundays, May 11 – June 15
All leagues are 6 weeks long. Six Franklin X-40 pickleballs per team are included and can be picked up from Park District Headquarters prior to league play. This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21.

Pickleball League Any Doubles Intermediate B
Ages 18 and up
Mondays, May 12 – June 16
Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this summer! All leagues are weeks long. Six Franklin X-40 pickleballs per team are included and can be picked up from Park District Headquarters prior to league play. This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s or mixed doubles) at the intermediate level.

Crafts with Nature – Wildlife Moms
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park. The theme for May is ‘Wildlife Moms’. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain.

Art & Imagination
Ages 6 – 8
This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Ohio Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting
Ages 12 – 18
Join the OYBC Southwest Chapter! Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth through the Ohio Young Birders Club. Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

Create your own vibrant, custom flower coasters in this hands-on workshop! From assembling a wooden base to designing with acrylic mosaics and filling in the final details, you’ll bring home a set of coasters as unique as you!
