Celebrate your child’s imagination and creativity with CWPD and the South Metro Optimists. Build a fairy and gnome home out of natural materials for our woodland residents. Upon arrival, your family will receive special currency to purchase natural embellishments for your home. Visit the realtor to get your home lot number and build a lovely house for our forest friends. Other activities will include music provided by the Dayton Dulcimer Society, a craft, and more! Sweet P’s Handcrafted Ice Pops will be available for purchase.

All ages with grandparents (suggested for children ages 3 – 12)

This Grandparents Day, we invite you to celebrate with us. Grandkids and their grandparents will gather for an afternoon of nature crafts, stories in the shade, an indoor tea party and nature play! One registration per family (5 maximum per family). This program is geared towards grandparents and their grandchildren.

Method Studio’s Megan Lees leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation.

Outdoor play is vital to child development and well-being. This program, designed to allow children to interact with nature in unique ways, teaches children about nature and the outdoors. Activities include discovery, challenges and games.

Tuesdays, September 9 – October 14

Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. This is an eight-week session. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Join the OYBC Southwest Chapter! Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth through the Ohio Young Birders Club. Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and a great place to make friends! Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

Ages 8 – 14

Young space explorers will create a glowing UFO terrarium and start a real crystal-growing experiment! Kids will decorate their jars with moon rocks, space gems, a UFO and glow-in-the-dark constellation stickers. Then, they’ll add the crystal mixture and learn how crystals grow over time—watching them start to form in as little as 24 hours at home!

Wednesdays, September 10 – October 15

This class is designed to help you maintain the strength, mobility and power at age 100 that you have now. You’ll work motor units—which disappear if we don’t use them—and all types of muscle, from slow twitch to fast twitch. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

This take-home kit features crafts and activities revolving around a fun nature-based seasonal theme! There will be three different kits — one for each month!

Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.

Registration is not required but is recommended.

Ages 18 and up

Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21.

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this fall! This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s or mixed doubles) at the intermediate level.
