Meet up with other trail trekking enthusiasts to trek through the parks during this self-guided meet-up program! You must bring your own Nordic poles if you sign up for this option.

There is no registration deadline for this program. Join anytime! Note: Tuesday Trail Trekking locations will be the same as our A Walk in the Park program.

Enjoy a candlelit stroll through Bill Yeck and Forest Field Parks. Warm up by the Smith House fire circle and enjoy the sounds of the season with carols from Centerville High School’s symphonic choir! Free hot chocolate at the Forest Field shelter while supplies last!

Registration is requested but not required. Registered participants will receive a weather cancellation email in the event of inclement weather.

Getting outdoors makes us happy and healthy, especially in the wintertime! Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson, game or activity before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This is a Tools to Trek program. Individuals attending three or more hikes will get a themed patch. This hike takes place on a natural path.

Participants can register up to the start of the program.

Connect with your creative side! Join Kristin Bailey from Purple Paintbrush, LLC for an evening of R&P — Relaxation and Painting! Come in your relaxing attire (that can get messy) and pick a project. Enjoy light refreshments, a holiday movie and the winter scenery! Choose between a few mug options or a vintage tree night light!

These are self-guided walks around your community parks! Enjoy reduced stress, improved quality of sleep and the many benefits from an improved quality of life. It will be A Walk in the Park!

Wednesdays, December 6 – February 28

Staff and volunteers will lead groups for different paces. Hike for Your Health is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and get to know some of your parks better. All hikes are on natural trails. Please wear appropriate shoes for trails that may be muddy or slick.

Wednesdays, December 6 – January 10

You will get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, yoga practice, as well as mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Ages 6 – 10 with adult companion

Children will use their creativity to make two penguin ornaments! Kathy Woodruff will assist the children and parents, guardians or grandparents as they work together on this unique project. Please register each child attending.

Ages 16 and up

This class is designed for all skill levels, providing as much or as little assistance as you would like. We will be felting snowflakes, which can be displayed in a number of ways for the winter season.

Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion

There are so many things to do in the dark! Your leaders have a challenge for you! Can you find the secret glow codes along our hiking path? While searching for clues, we will talk about animals that make their own light. The session of PNS takes place mostly outdoors.

Ages 16 and up

Exercise your creative side while making new holiday presents or decorations. Instructor Kathy Woodruff will lead the class in creating a variety of fused glass ornaments. This class includes three ornaments with plenty of styles and options to choose from.

Ages 12 – 17

Help us package seeds collected in the parks to be given away at our spring and summer programs! This project takes place indoors. Participants needing more volunteer hours can take home unfinished work.
