Beginner Pickleball Lessons – Session B

Join Certified Pickleball Trainer James Lawson to develop the introductory skills to level up your pickleball game. This 4-week lesson is designed for the beginner player looking to develop basic skills to move up to a more competitive level of play. This program will move indoors for adapted lessons in inclement weather.

Crafts with Nature – I Love the Earth

Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion

 

We will complete crafts with nature/sensory themes, read stories, play games and take short hikes in the park. This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. If your child is not walking, backpacks and front carriers are appropriate. Strollers are not recommended for parks with natural terrain.

Fitness Yoga C

You will get it all in one fitness class — a challenging workout, yoga practice, as well as mindfulness and functional movement for vitality and longevity. All levels are welcome. Taught by certified yoga instructor Dan Loofboro. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Creek Peek: Hidden Wonders Beneath the Rocks

Want to learn more about what hides out under rocks in and near waterways? Come find out who considers these rocks home and why these creatures live the way they do. Later, paint a rock resembling your discoveries! Dress to be in the creek. Close-toed shoes are required. This is a Tools to Trek Program.

BIG Backyard Party

The 9th annual BIG Backyard Party is here! Join us for an afternoon full of hands-on activities all ages and abilities can enjoy. Activities will include inflatables, fishing, archery, field games, and so much more! Two hundred free fishing poles are available for children ages 14 and under thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This program is made possible by several ongoing community partnerships.

Summer Pressed Flowers

This class will begin with an introduction to various flower pressing and preserving methods. After that, we will press some flowers of our own and make mini art with dried flowers. Participants may choose to add on a wooden flower press for an additional fee if they have not taken this class before.

Conservation Crew: Invasive Plant Control

The Conservation Crew will take charge of a native wildflower meadow, removing invasive plants to promote pollinator habitat. If you have work gloves, please bring them. We will have some on hand to borrow.

Glass Fusing: Whimsical Garden Décor

Add more color to your garden with glass décor. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will lead participants through the basics of glass fusing. Create two small pieces to stake in your garden.

Pickleball League Any Doubles My Teen & Me B

Sundays, August 3 – September 7

 

Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this summer! This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) comprised of a teen and their parent/guardian or other close family member over the age of 21. Please register your teen and list the participating family member in the questions. Both players must have an online account set up on the same household profile. There is no single player will call for this league.

Archery Adventures Camp B (ages 12-15)
