Join CWPD for an afternoon of planting, learning about and celebrating trees. Each Scout will plant two trees during the session. Please register by Troop.

What better use of old Halloween pumpkins than to shoot them with arrows! Join us for an evening of archery, but this time aiming for pumpkins! We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned to practice. Participants will aim for pumpkins and compete in friendly fall-themed competitions. All equipment is provided.

Ages 3 – 6 with adult companion

Get started on holiday decorating or gift giving by picking two special ornaments to paint. Then listen to an interactive story during this fun evening with Kristin Bailey from The Purple Paintbrush. The ornaments will be ready to take home at the end of the session.

Ages 0 – 4 years with adult companion

Exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. This hike is on a paved path. Backpacks, strollers, and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Ages 11 – 18

Bird watching and identification is fascinating. You will walk away with a greater knowledge of birds and their role in the ecosystem. Club activities are based on participant feedback, so you direct the focus of study. A light snack is included. Participants must be members of the Ohio Young Birders Club.

Ages 16 and up

Create a beautiful forest with fall trees and leaves on a 10.75″ square of glass. This project is a perfect piece to add to your fall décor! A metal hanger will be added if you would like for it to be a window decoration! All materials, except a stand for your project, are included.

Ages 6 – 10 with adult companion

Children will use their creativity to make two penguin ornaments! Kathy Woodruff will assist the children and parents, guardians or grandparents as they work together on this unique project. Please register each child attending.

Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Ages 16 and up

Exercise your creative side while making new holiday presents or decorations. Instructor Kathy Woodruff will lead the class in creating a variety of fused glass ornaments. Choose from plenty of different styles to create three ornaments!

Grandchildren will celebrate this fun time of year with a fall-themed craft, stories about turkeys and games with their grandparents! Registration is required, but you can arrive anytime between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Rocks are the name of the game today! We will learn what types of rocks we can find in Grant Park and add some fun specimens to our rock collections. Geologic history and fossil formation will also be discussed. This is a Tools to Trek program.
