Farm Friends Meet and Greet with Learning Tree B

Meet some friendly farm animals with Learning Tree Farm! After the 30-minute session with the animals, families can head out on our paved hiking path for an animal scavenger hunt. The majority of the program will take place outdoors. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Sunday Sundaes: Americana Kick Off

Kick off red, white and blue week with a free sundae at the Smith House! Enjoy a relaxing summer afternoon with refreshments, yard games and themed crafts.

 

Registration is not required, but registered participants will receive reminder and/or cancellation emails.

Summer Archery: Family Battles

Ages 8 and up

 

We will learn the basics of archery and will use the skills you learn in a friendly competition against your own family! We will provide all the archery equipment you need for this exciting event. Please register just one family member to reserve your family’s spot. Maximum four people participating per family. All participants must be at least 8 years old.

Summer Adult Archery A

Ages 16 and up

 

This program is for beginners interested in learning archery! By the end of the night, you’ll be shooting on your own, playing games and increasing your confidence as an archer. Each group can have up to four people. This program is perfect for couples, friend groups, co-workers, siblings and more! One registration per group. Must be 16 or older to join.

Early Adventures

Hit the trail with us! These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Wire Wonders

Grant Park, Kennard Nature Nook 6588 McEwen Rd., Centerville, OH, United States

Ages 14 and up

 

We will use beads, wire, rocks and glass tubes to create wire air plant holders or propagation stations. We will learn how to twist the wire and add beads and charms. All participants will receive an air plant to keep. No experience is necessary. We will be using wire cutters and pliers in this class.

Summer Slime Making

Have fun making your own red-, white- and blue-themed versions! We will responsibly clean up our mess, but also have fun making it! This program is a great way to make new friends and try some new slime recipes for fun and stress relief! Due to the variety of types of slime, please be sure to note any allergies.

Naturalist Camp: Insects

Grant Park, Kennard Nature Nook 6588 McEwen Rd., Centerville, OH, United States

Ages 12 – 15

 

We will conduct wildlife surveys, climb trees with EarthJoy, hike, go creeking, and take on silly team challenges. Each week will have a different nature theme to study. We will spend one day each week at Oak Grove Park where we will focus on archery, special activities and challenges related to our weekly theme.

Bike Centerville Community Ride C

Village South Park 411 North Village Dr., Centerville, OH, United States

Ages 18 and up

 

Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Cool Off Crafts

Sensory experiences with coloring ice and making your own ice cream craft in the shade are fun ways to cool off, but if that doesn’t do it, grab a free ice pop before playing on the playground!

Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on. All sessions are Tools to Trek programs.
