Grandparents Day in the Park
All ages
Spend an afternoon in the park celebrating your grandparents on National Grandparents Day! We will have a variety of activities, games and crafts for children and their grandparents to do together. In addition to the interactive activities, enjoy light refreshments. One registration per family. This intergenerational program is only for grandparents and their grandchildren. Parents and other caregivers may attend any of our other programs.

Yoga in the Park C
Ages 18 and up
Method Studio’s Megan Lees leads these yoga classes for all levels. Classes include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation. Classes will be held outdoors and will move indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Strollers in Motion
Adult caregivers with child 6 weeks – Pre K
Mondays, September 11 – October 9
Each total body workout incorporates power walking and strolling, strength training, balance work and toning. Strollers in Motion is an awesome way to get fit, meet new people and have fun with your little ones! And, after some classes, special activities will be planned for the children! All new participants will receive a water bottle. Strollers in Motion is led by Kenzie Potts.
Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime
All ages
Mondays, September 11 & 25, October 9 & 23, November 13
Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.
Registration is not required, but is recommended.
Outdoor Explorers
Ages 9 – 12
Mondays, September 11 – October 16
Children will learn about nature and the outdoors in this program designed to allow children to interact with nature in unique ways. Activities include discovery, games and creeking. We occasionally celebrate the last session of the season with a campfire and s’mores.

Tai Chi Intermediate
Ages 18 and up

Continuing to develop Tai Chi and Qigong principles moving from Tai Chi Easy™ into Dr. Roger Jahnke’s Integral Tai Chi form. Taught by Judy Wilson, Certified Integral Qigong and Tai Chi Instructor. This class will take place outdoors with the option to move indoors for inclement weather.

Art & Imagination

Does your child love art time? This drop-off program is designed to give your child an opportunity to get creative! They will try new techniques and design unique projects based on a monthly nature theme.

Introduction to Italian
Ages 14 and up

Italian instructor Nicoletta Serenata of “When I am in Rome” will introduce participants to the basics of the Italian language. Participants will receive a syllabus and materials to practice in class and at home. Each class will focus on a different subject — introducing yourself, numbers, expressions and more!

An introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong (pronounced Chi Kung) principles and form through Tai Chi Easy — a form created by Roger Jahnke, O.M.D. — to make Tai Chi accessible and fun for everyone. Taught by Judy Wilson, Certified Integral Qigong and Tai Chi Instructor. This class will take place outdoors with the option to move indoors for inclement weather.

Outdoor Fitness Equipment Demo Day!
Ages 13 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)
Meet us at Oak Grove Park for a walk-through of the outdoor fitness equipment trail! We will go over the equipment and how to incorporate the fitness trail into your workout routine! The complete Energi™ system is for active individuals ages 13 and up, while the LifeTrail® system is geared toward those ages 50 and over and includes ADA-accessible pieces.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Morning Birdwatching Walk
Ages 18 and up
Join Volunteer Naturalist John Kennard on a leisurely walk through the park to focus on bird identification. Bring binoculars if you have them; a limited supply will be available to borrow.

Adapted Action Day
All ages (must be 8 and up for archery)
Join us for a revamped Adapted Action Day! Those differently-abled or with special needs (and families) are invited to network with other families while enjoying recreational activities for all abilities! Participate in archery, kickball, fishing, sidewalk chalk, adapted biking, an inclusion tent, lawn games and crafts! Thanks to various sponsorships, the 5th annual Adapted Action Day will be bigger and better than ever!
