Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain.

Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting
Ages 12 – 17
You will walk away with a greater knowledge of birds and their role in the ecosystem. A light snack is included. Participants must be members of the Ohio Young Birders Club. The Summer Session of the Southwest Chapter is hosted by The Habitat at Kettering. You must register through them to attend.

Goat Yoga
Ages 18 and up
Join us for a one-of-a-kind morning filled with lots of fun and a bit of yoga! Goat Country, LLC. will bring their adorable goats for a special program. Time for pictures and cuddles with the mini goats will be included at the end. We suggest bringing an old mat if you have one and wearing clothes that you would not mind getting dirty.

Movie Party in the Park: Minions: The Rise of Gru

Come for games, crafts, activities and all things minions! Bring a picnic blanket dinner, or have the professionals from Claybourne Grill food truck cook for you. At sunset, we will gather around the big screen for a showing of Minions: The Rise of Gru! This event is made possible by a partnership with Jeff Probst Group at Keller Williams Community Partners.

Glass Fusing: Let’s Go to the Beach!
Ages 16 and up
It’s time for a creative beach vision! Create a relaxing beach scene on a 10.75” square of glass, which includes a metal hanger. All materials, except a stand for your project, are included. Instructor Kathy Woodruff will provide glass fusing instruction and creative ideas.

Intergenerational Series: Wildflower Walk
Ages 4 – 7 with grandparent(s)
We will pack a creative trail mix to snack on while we take a walk around the park admiring the wildflower blooms. The Intergenerational Series is only for grandparents and their grandchildren. Parents and other caregivers may attend any of our other programs.

Sunday Sundaes: End of Summer Celebration
All ages
Celebrate the end of summer with a sundae at the Smith House! Enjoy a relaxing summer afternoon with yard games and a guided hike. Bring your own picnic blanket or lawn chair. This event is weather-dependent, please check cwpd.org for weather updates.

Meet your neighbors and kick off the week with a fun evening in the park! CWPD will bring big games, activities and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

The Any Time Fun Run

A fun run to fit your schedule! Signs along the fun run route feature fun and unique ways to stay active and get moving! The route is one mile using the Forest Field Park green trail.

Meet up with other trail trekking enthusiasts to trek through the parks through this self-guided meet-up program! Sign up to rent Nordic poles if you want to try trekking before you purchase your own set. You will be contacted to sign a borrower’s permit and pick up your set for the summer. A limited number of rental poles are available.

National Dog Day!
All ages
Let’s Pawty! Join us for an evening of spoiling your dogs with fun activities, a photo booth, giveaways and a puppachino bar. In honor of National Dog Day, we will be collecting donations for SICSA, a pet adoption and wellness center in our community. This program is weather-dependent.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 4 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.
