BIG Backyard Party
All ages
The 7th annual BIG Backyard Party is here! Join us for an afternoon full of hands-on activities all ages and abilities can enjoy. Activities will include inflatables, fishing, archery, field games, face painting and so much more! Claybourne Grill’s food truck and Sweet P’s Ice Pops will also be in attendance for all to enjoy. This program is made possible by several ongoing community partnerships.

Camp WILD Child – Wild about NATURE
Ages 3 – 6
Monday – Thursday, July 31 – August 3
Campers will join the teachers of WILD Child Nature Preschool for a wild week of MESSY play, exploration & nature adventures! This memorable week of camp will include hiking, unstructured nature play, creek romping, and more! Your child will explore with their five senses through process art and sensory play, participate in cooperative games, investigate invitation stations, and have the chance to truly let their imaginations run wild!
At WILD Child we believe “there is no such thing as bad weather” and our programming is held outdoors in all safe weather conditions! Please remember to dress for the mess and prepare to be outdoors, rain or shine!
Campers will need to bring a small hiking backpack, reusable water bottle, healthy snack, and a sack lunch daily. *fruit provided at snack time. **All campers will receive a WILD CHILD camp shirt**

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 4 years with adult companion
Hit the trail with us! These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Conservation Crew: Bluegill Habitat Structures
Ages 12 – 18
We will build bluegill habitat structures to encourage spawning.

After Dark Adventures
Ages 12 – 15
Join us for a lock-in style evening with board games, a night hike and lots of snacks! Will you be the champion of clue searching or the wizard of your new favorite board game? This session will feature exclusive options such as timed challenges, giant games and more glow fun!

Bubble-palooza Fun Run
All ages
A fun run with bubbles everywhere! Learn about where you can spot bubbles in nature as you stop by stations with bubbles! This will be a one-mile course with a 100-meter dash option for ages 10 and under. This event is sponsored by Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Watercolor Birds
Ages 18 and up
It’s summer! Enjoy the season by learning how to paint our fine feathered friends. We will use basic brush and watercolor techniques to create watercolor paintings of birds using images taken by a local photographer. Beginner/intermediate level.

Summer Archery – Family Battles
Ages 8 and up
Looking for some family-friendly competition? We will learn the basics of archery and will use the skills you learn in a friendly competition against your own family! Please register just one family member. Maximum four people per family. All equipment is provided.

Neighborhood Yoga: Breathwork/Meditation
Ages 18 and up
Exploring various yoga styles is as easy as walking down to your neighborhood park. Gentle yoga, vinyasa flow and breathwork + meditation classes will be offered in a soothing neighborhood park setting, led by Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees. Each class is suitable for all levels. Please bring a mat and water bottle. Classes are weather dependent.

We will learn the basics of NASP competition-style archery and put the skills learned to practice. Participants will compete against each other in friendly competition. All equipment is provided.

Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime

Mondays, August 14 & 28
Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library! Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.
Registration is not required, but is recommended.
