Conservation Crew: Bird Survey
Ages 12 – 18
We want to know what bird species are common along Bill Yeck Park’s Brown Trail. We will count all the birds we see and hear along the path. If you have binoculars, bring them. A limited supply will be available to borrow.

Pickleball League Any Doubles Beginner A
Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays, June 25 – July 30
Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this summer! All leagues are 6 weeks long. Six Franklin X-40 pickleballs per team are included and can be picked up from Park District Headquarters prior to league play. This for-fun league is open to any doubles teams (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles) at the beginner level. Please note, this is a league designed for players with a basic understanding of pickleball rules, but who are still early in their pickleball skill development. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.

Beaded Suncatchers
Ages 14 and up
Bring the sunshine inside with a sparkly, nature-themed suncatcher. We will be learning the basics of making wire and bead suncatchers. Make one of three sample projects. No previous experience is necessary.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Bioluminescence Hike (Fireflies!)
All ages
An evening hike exploring the world of fireflies and their bioluminescence. This guided hike will take you through trails where you’ll witness the glow of fireflies lighting up the night. Learn about the science behind their bioluminescence. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Young Birders Club Meeting
Ages 12 – 18
Kettering PRCA and Centerville-Washington Park District are collaborating to bring the joy of bird watching to our youth. Bird watching and identification is a fun and rewarding hobby and also a great place to make friends. Light snacks are provided. Participants must become members of the Ohio Young Birders Club and be between the ages of 12 and 18.

Family Fun Tennis Day
All ages
A fun-filled day enjoying tennis! Visit stations with games that will show you the tennis basics. Join in on a quick game! Participants should wear tennis shoes and are encouraged to bring their own racquet. Frios Ice Pops will be available for purchase at the event.

Succulent Desert Garden with Now and Zen DIY Studio
Ages 16 and up
Using succulents, cacti, sand, stones and natural embellishments, you’ll design a low-maintenance 10″ arrangement that thrives in a sunny spot. Perfect for beginners and plant lovers, this workshop combines creativity with easy care tips for these hardy plants. Leave with a beautiful desert-inspired centerpiece to brighten your space year-round!

Sunday Sundaes: Americana Kick Off
All ages
Kick off red, white and blue week with a free sundae at the Smith House! Enjoy a relaxing summer afternoon with refreshments, yard games and themed crafts.
Registration is not required, but registered participants will receive reminder and/or cancellation emails.
Summer Archery: Family Battles
Ages 8 and up
We will learn the basics of archery and will use the skills you learn in a friendly competition against your own family! We will provide all the archery equipment you need for this exciting event. Please register just one family member to reserve your family’s spot. Maximum four people participating per family. All participants must be at least 8 years old.

Summer Adult Archery A
Ages 16 and up
This program is for beginners interested in learning archery! By the end of the night, you’ll be shooting on your own, playing games and increasing your confidence as an archer. Each group can have up to four people. This program is perfect for couples, friend groups, co-workers, siblings and more! One registration per group. Must be 16 or older to join.
