Porch Stitching: Watercolor Embroidery (Adults)

Come and enjoy the warm weather on the porch! We will be combining both watercolor and embroidery for a unique piece of mixed-media art. The program will cover the basics of watercolor on fabric and simple embroidery. No previous experience is needed to participate!

World Migratory Bird Walk
Recommended for ages 9 and up
Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on a leisurely walk through the park to focus on bird identification. Bring binoculars if you have them; a limited supply will be available to borrow. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Penbrooke Garden Club Plant Sale
Sunshine and Feathers Adapted Fun Run
All ages
Participants can enjoy the paved path at the Kennard Nature Nook while stopping at various booths along the way. Each booth will have interactive games, giveaways, and all things sunshine and feathers! The event falls on World Migratory Bird Day and will feature birding activities for all! The Kennard Nature Nook will also have various activities. Participants are encouraged to travel along the path visiting booths at their own pace. The last time to start the route is noon. This is a Tools to Trek program.
Create Together Workshop with Now and Zen
Ages 6 and up with an adult companion (Adults can register in addition to create their own terrarium)
Kids and adults alike will enjoy being creative with sand art — with the bonus of adding live air plants. All materials are included for this fun project, including the choice of a vertical or horizontal vessel.

Crafts with Nature
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
We will complete crafts with sensory themes and take short hikes in the park! This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain. The Crafts with Nature May programs are identical, please only select one.

An Evening at Camp

Summer camp is just around the corner and we are so excited! Join us for an evening of all our favorite camp games, hikes and activities to celebrate the start of summer. Finish the night sharing your favorite camp stories around a campfire with s’mores.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Glass Fusing: Spring Birch Trees
Ages 16 and up
During this class, you will create a beautiful spring birch scene on a 10.75″ square of glass. A metal hanger will be added if you would like for it to be a window decoration! All materials, except a stand for your project, are included.

Campfire Yoga

Celebrate spring with Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees! Enjoy some downtime next to the warm and cozy fire. This outdoor yoga class will include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation around the campfire.

Butterfly Survey May
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Watercolor Cactus Class
Ages 18 and up
Let’s warm things up! In this workshop, we are going to create loose watercolor paintings focusing on expressive brushwork and vibrant colors. Leave the class with your finished painting. Studio materials are provided to use while in the class.

Bike Centerville Community Ride B
Ages 18 and up
Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Nature Fun: An Outdoor Family Storytime
All ages
Families are invited to join us outside to listen to a story brought to you by the Washington-Centerville Public Library. Participate in nature-themed activities following the story. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.
Registration is not required but is recommended.
