Wildflower Yoga

Enjoy a relaxing evening of yoga while we watch the flowers bloom! Learn about our native ephemeral (short-lived) forest wildflowers after practicing breathwork, standing poses, flowing poses and ending with relaxation surrounded by the spring forest.

Conservation Crew: Caterpillar Team

Learn how to take care of the CWPD caterpillar cage residents. In addition to learning about the caterpillars and their needs, participants will have the opportunity to sign up to feed caterpillars for additional hours.

Empowering Outdoors: Coffee and Conversation

6 – 7 pm: Coffee and Conversation
7 – 7:30 pm: Hike

 

This session’s conversation is an overview of trail safety on hikes of any length led by Erin Compaleo, Assistant Director of Outdoor Recreation at Wright State University. It will include a basic self-defense overview.

 

The hike is one mile total, an easy-paced out-and-back hike. There is a 1/4-mile paved walk option as well.

 

All women are welcome to attend these donation-based events. Donations of gently used camping gear are greatly appreciated to connect women from difficult life situations with the joys of outdoor recreation and the supportive community that comes with it.

 

Hope Wanders was born out of a deep commitment to helping survivors of abuse reclaim their lives and discover the strength within themselves. Jessica Urton, the founder, envisioned a sanctuary where women could find solace, courage, and community in the great outdoors.

Did you play Oregon Trail as a child? Join the Park District and Centerville-Washington History to experience a simulation of Centerville’s founders! Your family will learn of Washington Township’s early citizens and learn about the hardships they faced traveling to the area! Pack your wagons, encounter scenarios and challenges and hunt for food. The trail is approximately one mile in length on a crushed limestone path.

Movie Party in the Park: Star Wars, The Clone Wars

May the fourth be with you! Enjoy an evening in the park watching the animated 2008 movie “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” — perfect for any age Star Wars fan. We will start out with interactive games and crafts before showing the movie under the stars. Grab dinner from Claybourne Grill and have Kona Ice for dessert or bring your own dinner and snacks. Bike Centerville Community Ride A

Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Centerville and Washington Township by bicycle. The ride will be led by trained and experienced bike leaders and will help you learn routes to shopping, parks and more! Rides will be an easy-paced 10 to 15 miles that start and end at a park.

Young Birders Club Chapter Meeting

Bird watching and identification is fascinating. You will walk away with a greater knowledge of birds and their role in the ecosystem. These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path.
