Preschool Nature Series: Finding Frogs
Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion
Frogs are becoming active in our ponds and wetlands. We will learn about the amazing lifecycle of our local frogs and toads. Then, we will hike to the wetland and see how many we can spot!

Glass Fusing: Whimsical Garden Décor
Ages 16 and up
Prepare your spring garden with glass décor in this brand new glass fusing class. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will lead participants through the basics of glass fusing. Create two small pieces to stake in your garden.

Butterfly Survey April
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Owlexander’s Tyke Hike
Recommended for ages 5 and under
Follow Owlexander through the park as he helps build early literacy skills and improve physical motor skills for busy early learners. Participants will make an owl puppet to take with them on the short hike. This program is offered in partnership with the Washington-Centerville Public Library.
Registration is not required but is recommended.
Watercolor & Ink: Tulips and Daffodils
Ages 18 and up
Familiar with watercolor, but want to take your skills to the next level? Join us in this class and learn techniques like how to add interest to backgrounds, work with a limited palette to improve mixing skills, and work with limited brushes to improve dexterity. Studio materials are provided to use while in the class. This program is beginner/intermediate level.

Let’s enjoy an evening of stargazing! Boonshoft Museum of Discovery will have an indoor planetarium to view the night sky inside the Nature Nook. There will also be opportunities for various outdoor stargazing activities, including a short hike with a naturalist. Please register each member of the family who will be attending. The dome has limited space.

Chalk on the Block!
All ages
Welcome spring by decorating the path around the Smith House with chalk designs! Stencils and chalk are provided along with additional activities for families. Registration is requested for planning purposes. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email in the event of inclement weather.
Spring Into Archery – Family Battles

Looking for some family-friendly competition? We will learn the basics of archery and will use the skills you learn in a friendly competition against your own family! Please register just one family member. Maximum four people per family. All equipment is provided.

Arbor Day Community Celebration
Attendees will be invited to help the City of Centerville and Centerville-Washington Park District plant trees following a ceremony. Keep America Beautiful’s McCall Vrydaghs will be this year’s keynote speaker.
