Try new art skills during this fun crafting program based on nature themes. Each session will have different options for participants to choose from and allow them to work independently or get creative together!

It ‘Felt’ Like the Holidays: Embroidered Decor
Ages 16 and up
Use colorful felt, thread, beads and sequins to create your own handmade holiday decorations. We will be going through the steps needed to sew a felt ornament. Each participant will leave the program with the supplies to finish their set. No experience with embroidery or sewing is needed to participate in this festive program.

Growing Up WILD Workshop and Training
Ages 16 and up
Growing Up WILD is an early childhood curriculum that can be incorporated into classroom settings, informal educational opportunities, and with the children in your family. This 3-hour training session will show educators how to use the guide and showcase resources available to connect children to the outdoors.
Growing Up WILD curriculum guides are provided for free to those completing the course by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife.

Family Ornament Workshop: Pottery Painting
Ages 5 – 12 with adult companion

Beginner Naturalists Club: Oh Deer
Ages 3 – 6 years with adult companion
CWPD is looking for our newest generation of naturalists! This program is an opportunity for participants to explore Bill Yeck through their five senses, just like naturalists! Each month will cover a different, exciting topic. The theme for December is Oh Deer!

Holiday Teacup Workshop with Now and Zen
Ages 10 and up
Choose from a wide variety of fairy garden embellishments to design a charming teacup terrarium that will brighten up any room! Keep it for yourself or give it as a gift!

This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Glass Fusing: Winter Ornaments B
Ages 16 and up
Exercise your creative side while making new holiday presents or decorations. Instructor Kathy Woodruff will lead the class in creating a variety of fused glass ornaments. This class includes three ornaments with plenty of styles and options to choose from.

Preschool Nature Series: Soil Chefs
Ages 3 – 5 with adult companion
What is soil made of? We will pretend to be chefs and cook up the perfect soil recipe while we learn about the importance of soil in nature.

Luminary Walk
All ages
Enjoy a candlelit stroll through Bill Yeck Park. There will be a half-mile paved route and a one-mile route along the purple trail. Warm up by the Smith House fire circle and enjoy the sounds of the season with carols from Centerville High School’s symphonic choir! Free hot chocolate at the Forest Field shelter while supplies last!
Registration is requested but not required. Registered participants will receive a weather cancellation email in the event of inclement weather. Weather updates will also be posted on cwpd.org
Winter Hiking Club: Hibernation 101
All ages
Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson, game, art, or activity before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This is a Tools to Trek program. Individuals who attend Winter Hiking Club will get a themed sticker! This hike takes place on a natural path.
Participants can register up to the start of the program.
Young Birders Club Gathering: Dec
Ages 12 – 18
Join other Ohio Young Birders for a pizza and friendship before heading out to see what birds we can find in the December woods. Bring a friend who might be interested in trying out this fun hobby.
