Recreation Day Camp (RDC) offers a variety of recreation activities, sports, games, arts and crafts, guest speakers and more! All RDC sites are led by trained recreation leaders. This fun program keeps children outdoors and active all week!

Wonders of Water
Ages 3 – 5
Monday – Friday, July 1 – 5 (No camp July 4)

We will spend the week learning all about the types of water at your parks, playing a variety of water games, and searching for unique creatures in the water. Campers will also get the chance to learn about and test the water quality around Grant Park.

Taking Flight
Ages 6 – 12

Let’s explore all the nature above our heads. There are many critters that live in our treetops. We will spend the week learning all about which animals can fly and how they use flight to help them survive.

This week full-day campers will have the opportunity to participate in tree climbing, cost included in the camp fees.

Archery Adventures Camp A (ages 9-11)

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Family Fun Tennis Day
All ages
A fun-filled day enjoying tennis! Visit stations with games that will show you the tennis basics. Join in on a quick game! Participants should wear tennis shoes and are encouraged to bring their own racquet. Kona Ice will be in attendance available to purchase to help you beat the heat!
Registration is not required.
Creek Speak
All ages
Listening ears! While hiking to the creek spot, we will learn about the amazing summer migratory birds that nest and sing along our creek! This is a Tools to Trek program.

Beginner Archery
Ages 8 and up
We will learn the basics of NASP competition-style archery and put the skills learned to practice. No experience is required! By the end of the program, you’ll be firing arrows on your own and competing in friendly competitive games to enhance learning! All equipment is provided. Please register each participating person. If a child is participating, they may have an adult participate (if registered) or simply stay and observe (no registration required).

Bike Centerville Advanced Ride A
Ages 18 and up
This ride will take our Bike Centerville Community Rides up a level and be approximately 22 miles starting at Iron Horse Park, exploring Centerville, Kettering, Oakwood, and the Oregon District, before ending back where you started.

Join a Park District tennis league and play tennis in the parks this summer! Several levels of play allow opportunities for all abilities. All leagues are 10 weeks long.
