Oh My Gourd Archery B
Ages 16 and up
What better use of old Halloween pumpkins than to shoot them with arrows? Join us for an evening of archery, but this time aim for pumpkins! We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned into practice. Participants compete in friendly fall-themed competitions. All equipment is provided. This program is for participants 16+ only. Kids 8+ may sign up for the kids version of this program earlier this day.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 5 years with adult companion
Hit the trail with us! Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. This is a Tools to Trek program. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Mad Science University

Science is all around us! Children will experience science firsthand through hands-on, and sometimes messy, activities! We will explore fascinating science concepts with a new theme each week. We are putting science to the test as your child learns about chemistry, biology and physics.

Kid’s Glass Fusing: Penguin Ornaments C
Ages 6 – 10 with adult companion
Children will use their creativity to make two penguin ornaments! Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will assist the children and parents, guardians or grandparents as they work together on this unique project. Please register each child attending.

Allergen Playdate
Recommended for ages 2 – 10 with an adult companion
Thursdays, November 7 & 21
Do you have a child with a severe food allergy? Do you wish there was a space where you could say YES to your child worry-free? This playdate is for kids with food allergies and their families. While the kids play games, do crafts and eat from a snack table catered to be safe for ALL attendees, adults/older siblings will chat with each other and a local allergy specialist from the Dayton Food Allergy Network to learn more about supporting their kids. Feel free to attend one or both programs, each will have new information and activities. This is not a drop-off program. One registration per family.

Glass Fusing: Night Light B
Ages 16 and up
Create a 3.25″ by 3.25″ nightlight to add a unique glow to the dark winter evenings. Kathy Woodruff from Busy Beaver will provide the supplies. Beginners and returners alike are welcome to this new class!

Crafts with Nature
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
Let’s get together and do a nature craft! We will complete crafts with sensory themes and take short hikes in the park! This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain. The Crafts with Nature November programs are identical, please only select one.

Art & Imagination
Ages 6 – 8
This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Needle Punch for Beginners: Mug Rugs
Ages 14 and up
Learn how to needle punch as we create a set of colorful coasters. We will cover the tools, techniques, and tips of this fun fiber art. No previous experience is needed for this beginner-friendly class.

Creative Crafting

Try new art skills during this fun crafting program based on nature themes. Each session will have different options for participants to choose from and allow them to work independently or get creative together!

Stemily Studios: Bigfoot Search
Ages 8 – 14
Cryptids are creatures that haven’t been proven to exist … yet. Sightings of bigfoot started back in the late 1800s and have only grown since. Join us as we investigate around the Nature Nook to see if Bigfoot has ever stopped by to visit!

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

We would like to invite you to attend an online inclusion focus group. Please share your suggestions with us! We want to hear about your park experiences. Help us continue to promote inclusion and accessibility for all at your Centerville-Washington Park District parks and programs! Anyone in the community is welcome to attend. The focus group will be held via Zoom.

Conservation Crew: Seed Cleaning
Ages 12 – 18
The seeds that were collected at the beginning of the fall season are ready for cleaning! The cleaned seed will be used to make seed packets to give away in the community, or will be sowed at a spot within the Park District!
