Halloween Hop & Howl: A
All ages
Put on your Halloween best and join us for a festive stroll for preschoolers and their families around Forest Field Park. Themed signs will be placed along the path to get kids moving and grooving as they collect goodies at various stations. Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the Halloween spirit. The first 100 participants will receive tickets for free Kona Ice, sponsored by Tammy Zell of the Sasser Group/KW Advisors Realty! Kona Ice is weather dependent. This is a “teal pumpkin” event — all treats will be allergy-friendly. Please bring your own bag to collect treats!

Campfire Yoga
Ages 18 and up

Celebrate the crisp evening weather with Method Yoga Studio’s Megan Lees! Enjoy some downtime next to the warm and cozy fire. This outdoor yoga class will include warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flowing poses and end with relaxation around the campfire.

Doggy Fitness Day!
All ages
Join Zoom Room for a special Pup-Lates class that focuses on building strength and boosting trust between owner and pup. Let’s learn something new, build agility and help our pups get (or stay!) in shape! We will also have a walking trail with tricks and treats, brain-boggling puzzles and obedience challenges.

Fall Foliage Canvas Painting
Ages 16 and up
Join CWPD and Kristin Bailey from The Purple Paintbrush LLC for an evening of exploring fall foliage in the park through paint. Dress warmly for a hike to take in the colors before we begin to paint. Warm beverages will be provided to keep you cozy! This class is open to all skill levels.

Pumpkin Succulent Centerpiece
Ages 16 and up
Decorate for fall with a pumpkin topped with moss and succulents. Choose between one pie pumpkin or three mini pumpkins!

Pumpkin Patch Dash Fun Run
All ages
A fun run all about one of our favorite aspects of fall — pumpkins! Visit all the stations along the route. They will have a wide variety of pumpkin and fall-inspired facts and activities. Learn more about our favorite fall gourd along the way! This will be a one-mile course with a 100-meter dash option for ages 10 and under. This event is sponsored by Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Butterfly Survey
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Help contribute to research by joining the naturalist on butterfly surveys. Identify and count butterflies while observing other seasonal wildlife as we stroll. No experience is necessary. Trail is approximately one mile in length on uneven terrain. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Chalk on the Block!
All ages
Welcome fall by decorating the path around the park with fall-themed chalk designs! Stencils and chalk are provided along with additional activities for families.
Registration is requested for planning purposes. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email in the event of inclement weather.
Art & Imagination
Ages 6 – 8
This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Spooky Sweatshirts
Ages 16 and up
Use household supplies to create a one-of-a-kind spooky sweatshirt, perfect for the chilly weather. This class will cover the basics of bleach painting before we create our own crewneck sweatshirt. Please select if you would like to add on a crewneck sweatshirt. You are also welcome to bring your own items to be bleached as long as they are a dark color.

Conservation Crew: Seed Collection Hike
Ages 12 – 18
In addition to collecting late-blooming flower seeds from the Seed Nursery, we will hit the trails and look for other seeds ready to be collected. Participants are welcome to take some seeds home to plant in their gardens.

Creative Crafting
Ages 9 – 13
Try new art skills during this fun crafting program based on nature themes. Each session will have different options for participants to choose from and allow them to work independently or get creative together!

Stemily Studios: Bat’s Amazing!
Ages 8 – 14
October’s class focuses on awesome creatures — bats! We’ll learn about how they are an important part of our ecosystem and create a slingshot to launch our own mini bats!

Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.
