Join the Park District and Centerville-Washington History to experience a simulation of Centerville’s founders! Your family will learn of Washington Township’s early citizens and learn about the hardships they faced traveling to the area! Pack your wagons, encounter scenarios and challenges, and hunt for food. Trail is approximately one mile in length on a crushed limestone path.

Spring into Archery
Ages 8 – 15
We will learn the basics of archery and put the skills learned to practice. Participants will compete against each other in friendly competition. All equipment is provided.

Join Oberer’s Flowers for a relaxing evening learning, step-by-step, how to create a sunshine-y arrangement with beautiful bright flowers including sunflowers! All supplies are included.

Conservation Crew: Pond Plantings
Ages 12 – 18
The Oak Grove pond needs a makeover! We will be planting native wetland plants, removing invasive cattails, and learning about the pond as we go! Please dress in clothing that can get wet/muddy. Boots are recommended.

YoGlow
Ages 18 and up
Method Yoga Studio owner and instructor Megan Lees will lead this outdoor yoga class in the peaceful park setting. We will provide glow bracelets for all participants to wear! This yoga class is for all levels. Please bring your yoga mat and water. Dress comfortably.
Registration is not required, but registered participants will receive reminder and/or cancellation emails.
Nature Journaling Watercolor A
Ages 18 and up
Take a walk in the woods and capture your journey on paper. Learn how to utilize basic watercolor and lettering techniques to document your experience. Materials kit includes travel watercolor paint pan set, Aqua paintbrush, waterproof fine tip pen, pencil with eraser, bull clip, blank kraft travel notebook and 9×12 drawing board.

Movie Party in the Park: Rio
All ages
Come for games, crafts, activities and much more! Bring a picnic blanket dinner, or have the professionals from Fren-Cheese Eats food truck cook for you. At sunset, we will gather around the big screen for a showing of Rio! This event is made possible by a partnership with Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Children will enjoy songs, crafts, hikes and games. This station-based drop-off program is sponsored by the South Metro Optimist of Centerville Women’s Club.

Early Adventures
Ages 0 – 4 years with adult companion
Hit the trail with us! These exploratory hikes foster curiosity and confidence in young children. Your leader will point out seasonal changes and other natural points of interest in the parks. Hike is on a natural path. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking.

Neighborhood Yoga: Gentle Yoga
Ages 18 and up
Exploring various yoga styles is as easy as walking down to your neighborhood park. Gentle yoga, vinyasa flow and breathwork + meditation classes will be offered in a soothing neighborhood park setting, led by Method Yoga’s Megan Lees. Each class is suitable for all levels. Please bring a mat and water bottle. Classes are weather dependent.

Intergenerational Series: Hike & Seek
Ages 3 – 6 with grandparent(s)
Walk along the scenic natural path at Pleasant Hill Park during this favorite summer program! Enjoy nature together on a scavenger hunt. After the hunt, we will enjoy show and tell and a story in the shade! Bring your cameras and wear comfortable close-toed shoes. The Intergenerational Series is only for grandparents and their grandchildren. Parents and other caregivers may attend any of our other programs.

Start at the Kennard Nature Nook to pick up your backpack and head out as a family to see if you can beat the clock! One registration per family.
